City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Do you think our owners like being branded as "cheats" and accused of "financial doping"? If UEFA lose this court case and ffp gets thrown out then we will have been proved right and the corrupt cabal will be exposed for what it is. Our name will be cleared. If not, we will forever be tarnished and called "cheats". People have long memories and football fans in particular never forget anything. That's why the fact that Arsenal buying their way into the top flight still gets mentioned today. Fighting it ourselves would have seriously damaged our relationship with UEFA and within the game. It would also have hampered our progress as a club. This way we have stayed in their good books and seemingly gone along with it. If it does get thrown out we will have won twice.

Oh our owner will get even, don't you worry. Just not in the way we'd like. And I hate FFP like you.
All the ba$tards who have tried to put our owner down had better not have anything naughty to find because if there is something to be found it will be found.

No, I think you've echoed my thinking there. I first saw it with Newcastle, when they were in the EL and nearly got relegated. Clearly Ashley made the decision that staying in the PL was a far higher priority than risking winning a cup or getting in the top six. Sad if you're a fan but sadly logical if you're an owner. But that was the EL and are teams even going to bother spending to go for the CL places now?

We should be alright as I suspect winning the CL and joining the European elite is very much part of our owner's plans.

Do you think we saw evidence of this last night at the Emirates, where Wenger "rested" Petr Cech and onlt started Ramsey on the bench for the CL, presumably so they would be in peak condition for the PL at the weekend, and in Porto where Mourinho didn't start Hazard and Matic?

Possibly but I think there were different circumstances for both. Arsenal appeared to have an easy game last night (although we know there are no easy games in the CL) and a tough one on Sunday. But as we found out on Saturday, playing your second string goalie can cost you big time. Arsenal are pretty certain to qualify for next season's competition rather than be in a relegation battle so I think that was just a miscalculation on Wenger's part. With two games v Bayern coming up, they had to get 3 points last night so should have made sure they got those.

Chelsea had their most difficult CL game last night, so I suspect Mourinho was prepared to write it off if necessary, as they would have to do something pretty stupid not to qualify from the group. But they do need the domestic points or they could be in trouble and possibly not qualify for next season's CL so I'd say Mourinho was probably right, as Southampton could be a tricky game, even at home. They haven't lost on the road yet this season and Chelsea need all three points.

Considering we're not a publicly traded company, I'm pretty sure it's not a legal obligation to publish our financials.
It is. All companies have to file accounts at Companies House, whether public or private. The only difference is in the timing. Private companies have up to 9 months after their year-end (which means the end of Feb for us) and for public companies it's 12 months.

I mean 'release willingly to the general public to view as and when they want free of charge without farting about with Companies House or whatever.' Probably should've been a bit clearer, like when we release the financial reports on the OS.

Righty @Prestwich_Blue, lets put the cards on the table here. How do you see us shaping up this year?

We've added a ton of sponsorship deals and matchday and tv revenue must be much higher.

So, if you had to bet on it, where do you see us this year?
