City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

There's the Red Bull teams, plus the Pozzo family own Udinese and Watford. There's probably other examples too.
Some crowd had both an MLS team and a Mexican team there a while back too. It's probably not that uncommon when you unravel subsidiaries, holding groups etc.

This human rights always makes me laugh.

The fans that moan are fans of American clubs. The USA that pokes its nose into every other countries business. Starts wars for fun. It's people carry guns and kill each other on a daily basis. Nothing is said about American owners of clubs. I personally think the human rights record is atrocious, I mean where did BLM start ?

I particularly enjoyed this on Red Cafe:
Our success means so little to him that he proceeded to post a withering attack on our club in order to express how much our success is hurting him. Another opposition football fan using City as a diversionary tactic to deflect away from his club’s continued failings since Baconface called it a day!
Oh, and I bet he can’t wait for the Saudis to buy United.....

Does Hollywood need regulation? Is it an issue if The Rock gets $40m for a (s)hit movie that makes a profit?
The movies isnt a sports competition the last I checked.

When there are 20 Rocks in a squad getting that yearly and possibly not making a profit and say 12 agents managing those 20 players getting cuts bleeding the industry dry

The fact you'd compare tinseltown and the financial state of football speaks volumes and should serve as a warning

yep and all those supporters who fly ferry or train in plus those who come from London or afar will have look at there finances! When planes couldn’t fly because of the ash cloud the Liverpool ground can’t be filled

be interesting once grounds a fully open for full capacity will fans come back or just can’t afford to come back

football/premier league will have to review ticket pricing ? people will not just have spare money flying around
because of the price of a match ticket around £50 its far to much for a game and fans will stay away

maybe the new season with reduce pricing of around £20 and no season ticket sales ? just ticket sold on match day a week before even walk up pay on the gate

I’ve always wonder why they haven’t done this already. It would be so easy for them to bring in a rule where an owner couldn’t own several teams in different countries. Possibly the only reason they haven’t is that some of the other big boys plan on copying it
Google Chien Lee. US entrepreneur already owns half a dozen clubs in several countries. Including BARNSLEY FC.

Just regulate debt then you catch everything. (Plus maybe sources of income, but not amounts). If you regulate wages for example you are interferring with the business model. Then you will find you are forced bit by bit to regulate the P and L line by line. If you want to ensure sustainability, look after the balance sheet.
What about agents fees? Maybe not individual players contracts but a salary cap like they have in American football, that got too big financially and had to regulate. Its inevitable, football is unsustainable at the rate it is going. 200m transfers, 500k a week salaries, agents greasing the wheel. Grass roots and lower leagues fucked.

I'd say it's an industry that most definitely needs stringent regulation or reform. It's in danger of eating itself

I wouldn't be surprised if it is the next line of attack. There are plenty of sports franchises which have teams in different sports (like FSG and the Glazers) but I can't recall any that have multiple clubs in one sport (like CFG).
Our business model gives us a commercial advantage because we can leverage bigger revenues from global sponsorships for example and also reduce our costs by spreading them across the whole group. There is nothing unusual in this it is the way most major global businesses work including the tech giants. I am not sure how easy it would be for UEFA to stop us doing this. Other clubs will have to try and catch up on us. City are like the Amazon of the football industry.
Chien Lee. Google him. Owns footy clubs every where. Red Bull maybe.

That may be true, but if you regulate the wrong thing, there is years of trouble. See ffp and debt.
