City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

you're missing my point. Had we not got the investment - i reckon a lot of the players we ended up with would have ended up at Chelsea because they had the money to outbid the rags etc
They were never linked with them though. They beat us to Hazard, Luiz and Jorginho. The rags were after Nasri, Milner, Dzeko, Gundogan, Stones, Otamendi, Bernardo etc, we took Tevez as well. Liverpool were after Barry, Silva, Navas, we took Sterling from them. It's impossible to say who would have benefited.

Impossible to say if they were even interested in some of our signings(they mocked the Silva, Yaya and Aguero deals) but isn't a better point that if not City, then it would be someone else spending more to build the best squad? If not Chelsea, then United, if not United then Liverpool or Arsenal, that's the way it's always been since the 60s. What is the point it pretending that football would be any better in any of those scenarios? Since City still have one of the lowest club record signings among the Euro elite clubs it's pretty obvious the transfer market wouldn't be much different either, City are nowhere near the top inflators of the transfer market.

It's also a fact that the first decade of the PL was one of the least competitive on record, in terms on names on the title and the amount of teams in the top 4 I'd reckon too.

Most PL owners are billionaires.....

Sheikh Mansour | Man City | $20bn
Roman Abramovich | Chelsea | $11.3bn
Stan Kroenke | Arsenal | $10bn
Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha & family | Leicester City | $6bn
Joe Lewis & Daniel Levy | Tottenham | $6bn
Nassef Sawiris | Aston Villa | $5.8bn
Guo Guanchang | Wolves | $5.6bn
Glazer family | Manchester United | $5bn
Joshua Harris | Crystal Palace | $4.3bn
Mike Ashley | Newcastle United | $2.8bn
John W. Henry & Thomas C. Werner (FSG) | Liverpool | $2.7bn

would have been $19m if he hadn’t been astute with his investment of City ;)

And don't forget the world's largest solar power plant. In fact Abu Dhabi is one of the world's leading countries for renewable energy. But don't let the inconvenient facts get in the way of the "dirty oil money" narrative. Every single penny invested in City and CFG has been driven by Sheikh Mansour moving away from any dependency in his business on fossil fuel revenues. He has successfully achieved this, making a huge profit in the process. At some stage the English press will have to change their fake story about how City are actually funded. The media is just looking increasingly stupid.

Dont hold your breath... I’ve not heard the Daily Mail apologise for its misplaced support of Mosley or Hitler in the 1930’s so it could take time.

when you're as far behind something as they are behind us you'd take level, it would be a major win. City are in a different stratosphere in terms of potential spending power if unrestricted. The City premium will come back in a big way. We'll be paying 100m for everyone

But thats simply not supported by the facts... City set a value for a player like VVD or Maguire and we steadfastly refuse to budge.
