City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Must be embargo bit, broke at 10.30. Pep coming out swinging.

Amazing ain’t it, it’s as if we’re not allowed to spend any money at all. Seems to be the fact that the raggies we’re smashing records for/and over inflating transfer fees for as long as I can remember appears to have been completely forgotten about. Soon as we do it it’s headline news but of course there’s no agenda

So if we land Kane, and the deal goes up to £150m with the add ons, you can be sure we're going to get absolutely slaughtered. It will 100% be reported as 1/4 of a £billion spent, which is correct, but sounds a lot, lot more to the casual observer.

However, if we do spend £250m in one transfer window then we all must admit that every time we take the pitch it'll be mentioned and if we don't win the league/CL that will generate it's own headlines.

Our owners are Abu Dhabi, US and China based though. And one guy in Abu Dhabi. They know this but play to a racist gallery.
Remember when Shinawatra owned Manchester City, the media went crazy. There were calls for City fans to boycott the club. And yet the Leicester City owner who operates a commercial operation at the concession of the Thai military junta is regarded as an example of how to run a football club. I have nothing against the Leicester football operation just the way the media portray our club. We have to remember that the media are owned by companies who sell news to make money. So there is a market in racism and prejudice.

Same applies to every club that invests in transfer fees or wages.

Messi going to PSG, do PSG have to win the CL for this deal to be a success? there is an argument they do.

Chelsea have spent big on Lukaku, do they have to go and win the title?

We are already the Champions, if we spend 250m to we have to go and retain the title and go one better in the CL?

The UK media will always twist things to suit the narrative.

The media don't push racism, they push division.
Divided populations in-fight and blame each other for their strife, not the actual culprits.
The David Attenborough analogy of the 'ants in a jar' is a perfect representation of how the media works.

Yep. However, for some reason, we're held to a different standard.

And as said and more importantly our Chairman has spoken of the importance of the PL keeping together and to be aware of outside attack.
