Much more concerned about beating Everton tomorrow than all this FFP . Why doesn't some Cnut just come out and put us out of our misery,tell us what sanctions if any are to be applied then we can get on with the clubs real priority. ie winning the title!

Arsene Wenger believes Uefa needs to show it means business when the sanctions are confirmed against Manchester City and Paris St-Germain for breaching financial fair play rules.

Uefa is understood to have made a settlement offer to the clubs that they will have a limit placed on the total wage bill for next season's Champions League squad.

The final sanctions are due to be confirmed next week and Arsenal manager Wenger said: "There are rules to apply for the financial fair play. I want to see that respected, if that is not respected, then the financial fair play will have problems to be respected in the future because everyone will just not consider it at all."

Does anyone read the fucking rules??

As I understand it, that is one of the possible sanctions.

Interestingly if they were to go for that, it couldn't *possibly* be because we have the highest wage bill and therefore it would hurt us badly. That would be just pure coincidence, wouldn't it.

Well we can certainly give a a good case for removing the image rights parts of their salaries if they're striking out the income for image rights.

No matter what the club did the Star chamber were always going to hit City hard.
I reckon City will simply pay the entrance fee to the golden trough but state categorically the UEFA are wrong in their assumptions. Then sue there arses off whn FFP is rulled illegal.

What really fucks me off about Wenger’s stance on this, is that he doesn’t mind selling the likes of Adebeyor, Toure, Clichy, Nasri etc to us for a combined sum of circa £70m, which I assume went to pay off the bill for their brand spanking new stadium, but he thinks heavy spending by the likes of City is ‘unfair’. The man is a twat - maybe it’s a French thing and for the second time this season, I find myself agreeing with United fans about something (the other thing being what a bunch of sank stains Liverpool are)

I've said exactly the same thing in the past - that despite Wenger's and Arsenal's pontificating, they've been more than happy to take £70 million of our "dirty Arab oil money" in exchange for those 4 players. It can be argued that they pulled our pants down for Ade and Kolo in particular - I wouldn't be surprised if their board of directors (and perhaps Wenger himself) were pissing their sides when we handed the thick end of £40 million over for those two.

Unless he is suggesting that it was quite fair for them to take our money but not for anybody else to - Wenger is I think quite capable of that.

Maybe there is a period in the days after the meeting has ended but before the official announcement that more reliable rumours will emerge; not, of course, that I am suggesting any UEFA official could be tempted by a few €uros, £ounds or $ollars from the press to do this.

This is a ridiculous allegation, they won't accept any of these denominations, how would they get them through a currency exchange? Swiss Francs or you can bugger off.

Fair point in response to my post and maybe they will experiment with Bitcoins.
