Someone called David Bick on SSN now calling the 'leaked' figure of £50m as outrageous.

Wants us to take on UEFA in court, if figure is true.

Does he think they might shave a few million off the fine?

Didn't say, but you raze a good point.

Anyhoo, just realised he was involved in the City deal to sell to HRH so perhaps he is biased.

The thing I find incomprehensible about FFPR is that it is intended to prevent ALL clubs from spending beyond their means for the good of the game, so why does it only kick in if you play in European competition? What about clubs spending beyond their means that don't qualify, i.e. Monaco, Liverpool?

All you need to know about FFP is that it is the twisted brain child of an Napolean complexed anglophobe, who has then got a cartel of equally jealousy consumed self protectionists to support him; no matter how illogical and irrational the idea is.

Spot on, Gaudino.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

watching ssn yesterday ,they ask neil lennon about ffp,he said it was good so there wouldn't be a monopoly,

in a way lennon was right, more leagues should be competitive like the Scottish prem where any one of,ooh hang on.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Liverpool will be in the CL next season with ZERO PENALTY, even though they have lost $90M in the last two seasons.

So, in effect, City could be forced into a distinct disadvantage next season, while ANY club that did not comply with FFP (Liverpool and Monaco!) can compete against City without any sanctions SOLELY BECAUSE THEY DID NOT COMPETE IN CL LAST SEASON!

ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!!

UEFA are ABSOLUTELY BENT, more like. They have literally drawn the rules up to catch out clubs which challenged the original G14 Cartel. They think they know what they are doing. Think....

Re: City & FFP (continued)

If we challenge and win FFP will be dead in the water, then the flood gates could truly open for us, I think the world of football would shit itself if we had a blank cheque book, alternatively, if we lose there will be no more Gareth Bale type prices because no one will be able to do it, I expect lower prices but bigger wages, which is really the thing that is killing football.

Agreed, weird. How can you have different entry criteria for teams entering the same competition.

Surely, the fact that Monaco and Liverpool are NOT getting assessed for FFP is discriminatory?

Because fucking Platini thinks he is a law on to himself. Him and his robbing bastard cronies.

Entirely incorrect. You have it the wrong way around.

It was the product of the old G14 clubs attempting to protect their cartel by preventing any other clubs from investing sufficient to challenge them. Platini is just their tool not the instigator. If it was down to Platini then how come the PL has introduced similar measures?

It is down to the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, etc. They already saw Chelsea crash the party and later City and they don't want any more following that approach.
