City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

@lovefutebol: UEFA confirm any monies from FFP fines will be redistributed in the form of solidarity payments to other European clubs.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I’m not sure why people think that when we break even, everything will be fine. We are restricted to spending within our income limits from then on, so it limits what we can spend and, de facto, who we can buy. It’s a shit sandwich regardless of how much sugar we sprinkle on it.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

okay, hang on a sec.

PB can you clarify two things for me here?

By accepting this fine:

1. We are now free of the 3 year aggregate monitoring, so in essence our worst year is now null & void and we are now being monitored on 2 standalone years?

2. FFP takes a fine from our winnings, but we can still declare this as revenue?

If these are correct, FFP is a farce and we'd have been mad NOT to have accepted it now.

Transactions within the group are related party transactions by definition.

Some more good news - the withholding of prize money does not reduce our revenue, according to UEFA. We can still take credit for all revenues earned.
So for 2013/14 we had two IP sales

Sale of intellectual property to related parties (Note 28) 22,453
Sale of intellectual property to third parties 24,500

It's just the related party transaction that's to be excluded from future b/even calculations?
It was 2012/13 we put those through but yes you're right. Only those to group companies/related parties. But we won't be using these accounts again so it's not relevant.
Thanks.

Like Skashion I'd like to know how UEFA failed us. I note City's statement said

At the heart of those discussions is a fundamental disagreement between the Club’s and UEFA’s respective interpretations of the FFP regulations on players purchased before 2010

So somehow UEFA have not deducted the pre-2010 wages. To get away with that, they must have disallowed or reduced in value some Income?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Anyone understand why SSN are reporting a48.7m fine? Bears no resemblance to the club statement?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Realistically we were always likely to have to accept a legal challenge was laways going to provde very difficult - probably much of the negogiations have ben around other issues like the monitoring period etc

Either way glad its now over and we can move
