City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

I could be wrong here, but the fact that the club have gone to court over this suggests that they are in no mood to 'take a pinch' again. If they were, I suspect it would have happened a while ago

The premier league was on ourside for the court case though. The court case has very little to do with anything really just the premier league and city wanting it to be a closed door investigation but unfortunately the case was lost

I think we have drawn our line in the sand. The PL saga is following the same path as the UEFA witchhunt. It has been politically motivated from the start and this farce should have ended with the CAS decision.
Richard Masters (PL CEO) knows his job is on the line. There is no evidence and no chance of success but he has to be seen to be doing something by the people who vetted his appointment (Directors at LFC and MUFC). He needs a way out that doesn't look like a climbdown. That's why the PL lawyers (as well as ours) are spinning the process out as long as possible.
Masters will get off the hook (like Ceferin) by saying the allegations were "timed out" and it's "all City's fault." When the case collapses there will be an onslaught of poisonous private briefings from LFC and MUFC to their pals in the media about City "getting away with it." This is precisely what happened last time with the UEFA case. Most (not all) of the media will not report the story fairly. Some journalists were badly burned last time and will not be so compliant this time so the media storm will be more subdued. They know who they are and I am certain they read this forum.

Got a feeling we still have a few grenades ourselves, I’m sure our guys will be sat on all sorts of delicate info, the kind that ‘devalues’ the product as a minimum, and I’m sure the PL are well aware. The PL will be keen to protect their golden goose & won’t want to sensationalise any charge against us, but that won’t stop the red shirts.

But they footballing elite are still looking for ways to curb the CFG business model but thankfully struggling.
Revenues continue to rise with continued City success and global media exposure plus the halo effect throughout CFG. We have become a juggenaut that FFP failed to stop. The business model of the footballing elites has been shown to be inferior with things like 'history' and shirt sales increasingly irrelevant.

I have not been following this in as much detail as others on here - but I have a level of concern based on what I had thought that I had heard/read - that the PL disciplinary process does not have an in-built right of appeal - such as UEFA had with CAS.

So this means that whilst we would undoubtedly defeat any unfair penalty at arbitration or court - there might not be an avenue to such a hearing.

I hope that someone can confirm that I have just made that up in my mind - but I was sure that I had read it.

If I have remembered it right and Masters has been specifically recruited to satisfy the red shirt clubs - then I do worry that an unfair and unjustifiable penalty will be imposed

We'd just go straight to court.

Agreed. We will take a pinch and likely towards the youth allegations, which happen at every club and saw Liverpool sanctioned.

I suspect a two-window transfer ban after our summer work, to seemingly let the chasing pack (United) get a bit closer to us.
A pinch for what exactly though? I thought the Sancho & Dias claims were already dead & buried? Have I missed something? (I couldn't bring myself to download Der Shites 'evidence' I'm afraid)

Unless the PL have got evidence of something other than the stuff UEFA had that was later used at CAS, then I can’t see this going anywhere. They could still hit us with a punishment like UEFA did but if there’s no real basis to do that then I’m sure the club will take them to court and it could get very messy for the PL.

The PL investigation has been ongoing for 3 years now and I think it was only opened because UEFA opened theirs. They’re probably looking at an out that doesn’t piss off the usual suspects so maybe that’s why they haven’t had the balls to shelve it yet.
