City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Has this been mentioned? This thread is moving so fast...

Leading football law specialist Daniel Geey, of Field Fisher Waterhouse said it was significant that City have been told they may make a maximum loss of €20m (£16.2m) for the current financial year, £15m for the next financial year. That means Uefa have scrapped plans to use a three-year rolling figure in FFP considerations, which would have lumbered City with last season's losses.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

At the end of the day we are writing and reading reams of guess work- Nothing has been clearly released in terms of dealings and figures (apart from the obvious). We are a huge business now led by top businessmen- and with businessmen comes corruption. Our club will know what it is doing and will have got the best possible out of the Uefa slap on the wrist- we will have expected this and planned for it. The squad is the best in England and will be very strong for the next 3-4 years- keep them together and add the odd one or two and this team will go from strength to strength. This will give the academy time to work on the next superstars of the prem and we will be watching the cash roll in as we get bigger and bigger.

Maybe we should look to the FA as to why English kids are so poor compared to our spanish, German French etc counterparts- and why they are pulling millions from grass roots schemes. It's ok for Real, Barca and Buyern- there home grown players piss all over the English pre-madonnas!

All in all it was always expected- And i'd take it anyday as this mass expenditure has taken the club from the unknown to the best team in England- 4 trophies in 4 seasons- dreamland!

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Right so

Am I right in thinking we haven't been fined at all

- We're to lose out on £20m from the next two seasons CL revenue money
- We can only register 23 Players
- We can only spend £60m (With added sales) over the next transfer window
- We are scheduled to break even next year?.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I'm very disappointed City have just decided to bend over and take it. I don't think there would have been many fans out there who would have complained had we decided to take the cunts to court. But now the club has validated FFP and pretty much allowed them to continue to take the piss next season as well. Now we can't strengthen our squad to the level we would have liked so risk being in exactly the same situation we were when we last won the title where we didn't strengthen the squad enough and got left behind.

Whilst it could have been worse, it could also have been so much better.

As it stands, principally, we've accepted we're crooked. Never mind though, I'm sure UEFA won't be looking at all at our latest UAE based sponsorship deal with Arabtec.

Oasis at COMS 2005 is on Sky Arts at the moment. I'm probably better off watching that than getting too wound up about this.

Fucking UEFA.

Fucking cunts.
Cheers for that.......pulp next then blur!!!
Buzzin haha

So it's a load of shite, they stick less money in our bank, as oppose to us drawing it out and giving it to them.

We can only use 21 players, same as this year,

We can spend as much as we wanted to anyway,

We get to release a statement stating we could of shafted them, but let them off, coz actually there is no fuckin punishment, and in the future we can do want we want, coz financially we are going to smash it.

Forget sky sports and their bollocks, the truth is out there.

It is designed to look an incredibly harsh punishment on the surface and to the media whilst actually doing us not much harm at all! A stitch up all round

Can't wait to see the "safety" bonuses all our new players get!
indeed, we made a clear point in the statement as to this fact.

We've been well and truly shafted but the media aren't queueing up to help us and City "buying trophies again" and "cheating the rules" sells. We have treated FFP as a confidential process that is was supposed to be (until the outcome was formally announced) but have been taken to the cleaners as posters have written.

We absolutlely have not.

The only thing that will make any difference, is if the 8 homegrown rule still stands. If it doesn't, then we have won by a knockout. The cartel will be fucking gutted by this.

The cartel can appeal this mate.

UEFA fine clubs £50k for vicious racism. They have fined us up to £50m (£16m best case scenario) for differences of opinion over accounting methods. Well and truly shafted!!

Of course we can continue to grow but be in no doubt we have been well and truly mugged off.

Agree with this. City owners need to wise up now - We need the best 'spin doctor' money can buy for a start to compete in the media circus and then sue the sh*t out of our accountants who have presumably been paid millions whilst telling our owners all the time that we were on course to pass FFP when they knew all along that we were skating on very thin ice with some of the creative accounting!! .....

Re: City & FFP (continued)

FFS so am I and the majority of the posters on here hg mate, but Dupont has a solid case so lets cheer him on.

You're not alone, and that is a cracking post mate.

Apart from when he's got his maths fundamentally wrong you mean?

I couldn't give a shit about the maths to be honest. I'm opposed to FFP in principle, because I believe it's anti-competitive and bad for the game.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

This actually gives is a lot of leverage in our negotiations - sales clubs know we won't be as keen to sell, purchases clubs know we are limited and renegotiating contracts we factor in more bonus less salary. This bonus exemption is genius completely neutralises any negative impact of punishment but again UEFA can talk wage freezes
