It's the same for everyone else. The difference is that our shit sandwich has a lot more sugar than most others, as we'll have one of the highest revenue streams in Europe in the next couple of years.

And this is another reason why we potentially don't nor ever wanted to defeat FFP (Unless it became obvious it was going to stop us competing in Europe full stop). Like it or not FFP rules probably as of now but certainly in 2 seasons time are going to do exactly as intended - Solidify the positions of the top clubs around Europe. Difference being we're going to be one of them.

We have the handy back up of being fucking loaded should Dupont defeat it anyway of course, but if nothing else changes we're still sitting prettier than most. Ferran/Khaldoon/Mansour will ensure our revenue streams outstrip everyone else's, along with our ventures in the states and Melbourne, and FFP will ensure we can still out spend our opponents.

So that's it then? Our objections to FFP were motivated purely by self interest? Now that it looks like we're alright Jack, nobody gives a fuck about the fact that these regulations will prevent the dream that we've all enjoyed happening to anybody else?

Those same clubs voted for it, why the fuck would you give a shit when measured against ignorance????

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Just read that the fines for breaches of FFP will be distributed to other clubs as a solidarity payments.

This just gets better an better! We get fined for fuck all and the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manure get a slice of the money.

I'm guessing people are just pleased because it's not as bad as we thought and hence the injustice of us failing illegitimately is not rankling others as it is me.

It is me, and I've said as much on this thread.

Who gives a shit when the clubs you're talking about all voted FOR FFP whilst we voted against ... we are alright and that is ultimately all that matters.
Nobody voted for UEFA's rules in fairness.

No but it's club driven

Re: City & FFP (continued)

The major point with regard to the IP sales is irrelevant.

City and UEFA obviously couldn't agree. They disallowed or down valued it, meaning we failed FFP and allowed them to impose sanctions.

So that we won't be punished for the same thing next time, as it's a rolling monitoring period, we have had our maximum losses stipulated for the next 2 seasons at 20m & 10m, so the ip is irrelevant.

It's actually a better deal than anyone else, who has to have a maximum of 30m over 3 seasons.

The more I read it the better it gets.

I think we are all being played, it smacks of Uefa and City being in bed over this all along?

All window dressing, keeps the G14 from turning on Uefa, plastic enough sanctions for City to more than work around them.

No tricks Tolmie - it is a very vicious attack on us which has drawn real blood. We've got to bind our wounds and secure the citadel.

Not so sure, mate.

City have about £400k coming off the wage bill this summer as things stand.

Transfer policy will not be affected - they are already boxed off.

I also suspect we will get creative and secure a couple of loan signings which will keep us below the transfer cap, once sales are also factored in.

The increased prize money from the Premier League, this season, (£35m on last time) means it is double the fines we will actually pay in lost Champions League revenue these next two monitoring periods, and that's before the BT deal kicks in next year.

As for the quotas, again, not much different to this season in terms of numbers.

I really can't see much blood, more like a close shave, with some chafing.
