City Football Group Sign Worldwide Deal with SAP

No, I think ERP software will organise the data in such a way whereby it will allow the professionals to better decide player analysis and recruitment.

OK, I would be interested to hear more about how you think it would work. Personally Ican't see the relevance to player recruitment but I would like to read your thoughts on the matter.

Apologies if this comes across as sarcastic, that is not my intention. Genuinely interested in another perspective.

SAP are big into analytics, so the effectively gather as much data as possible, look at the outcomes on a probability basis. The more data, the more accurate the results.

Data is growing at a huge rate & analytics is used in every large corporation nowadays. If you're genuinely interested in what predictive analytics can do, check Watson from IBM. Proper crazy stuff

Oh, you don't say. Thanks for letting me know.

Predictive analysis is great for forcasts in areas that rely on a traditional, structural format such as mathmatical calculations. However, in an area that is more fluid, such as football then the knowledge management aspect comes to the fore.

Daft example. Your local bookie will use all the data analysis to generate the odds for you next bet.

However your knowledge makes you decide what bet you place.

I wish they'd stop forcing us to sit through their spiel about a business having a 'mind' every time i want to watch us get thumped in Europe etc.

The vast majority of users watching the videos on CityTV have no interest whatsoever in SAP HANA - i'm not really sure why they've chosen to advertise to this demographic, via that particular medium.

How do you know they have no interest?

A large proportion of CityTv viewers are in fact not City fans. I'm often of a minority when making comments on CityTv videos as you'll frequently find fans of clubs from all over the world making comments, and they'll make it obvious who they support.
The age range of youtube videos is often far lower than Alan Titchmarsh Gardening on BBC2 - and thus more open to new technologies.

I'm not suggesting SAP would get a million new clients because of their link with City but it certainly has made people more aware of their services.
Added to this - if City are succesful on the field they can then present certain services to potential clients as being a success as City have used them.

But as you rightly pointed out, if we're getting our asses kicked at Spurs then where the fuck was SAP then?
