City home kit consultation (Update - Results on Page 10)

Thanks Sharlumstash for these.

Just to clarify, how are we supposed to read the results of the favourite sock colours for example? Was sky blue the most popular or the other way round?

Yeah great work fella – results are pretty conclusive, we can only hope somebody from the club has been paying attention, and they give this the same consideration as they did the badge.

The results on the sock question, the ones at the top are the most popular and the ones at the bottom the least.

The last question asks which kit combination would be your first choice, you'll have to pull up the original survey to see which combinations are most popular.

But the results are conclusive. 92% of people's first choice is for a sky blue shirt, white shorts and blue socks. Sky blue socks being overwhelmingly popular.

Next most popular is sky blue shirts, white shorts and white socks, with 6%.

Sky blue shirts, sky blue shorts and sky blue socks got 1% of the vote.

Next year's combination of sky blue shirts, sky blue shorts and white socks got just over 1%.

Barca and Bayern have a model of changing the short and sock colour every season, and it seems this is the pattern the club are following.

Other clubs like Madrid, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Juventus, AC Milan etc have established kits that keep the same core elements every year. It's clear this is the path the fans would prefer City to go down.

Thanks mate.

I totally agree that I hope the club give this issue serious consideration. I've never understood fans who say "If you don't like it, don't buy it, simple". It really isn't that simple.

The kit is important to me because the identity of the club is important to me.

I've not bought a City kit for myself for over 25 years. Nothing against people that buy them, but it's not for me. I do buy them for my nephews though.

The badge is important to me and thousands of others because it represents our identity. You wouldn't say "If you don't like the badge don't buy anything with it on".

The badge and the home kit colours are about more than just merchandise. It's part of who we are. It's about respecting the history and identity of the club that has been going for 120 plus years.

No offense to the well reimbursed designers at Nike, but for myself in the age demographic of 18-30 year old male, I like seeing the City kits on highlights from the 60's-70's and it seems to me it took a hell of a long time to get back to that style until Umbro recreated it magnificently from 2009-12, those should the template for every home home kit.

Away kits are always a bit strange/different so I don't care about how they experiment with the away kit, but the home kit should follow the kits from those title winning seasons, no need to reinvent the wheel on this one swoosh.

A fantastic endeavour from Shaelumstash, well done fella.

When you say you will send the results to the club, to who exactly?
I'd personally make it FAO everyone from the Sheikh, chairman and board members to cleaners and hot dog sellers.

Y'know just to get the point across.

It's seems to be the same template for the England kit, and the Portuguese kit, and probably every other kit that Nike do with that pattern. We should be having something that is 'bespoke' and if Nike don't do 'bespoke' then they should be fucked off!
