Mentioned the other day north to south road works on the M1 M-Keynes to Luton Airport junction. Do it every Monday. Arrived at the road works this morning at 0700 and it took me two hours to get through (15 miles). No accidents just volume of traffic. Thought I would posts as dont want anyone to miss there flights. Best bet is leave early and hit the small but adequote airport bar!

Cheers for that info, if you are travelling from Manchester to Stanstead you could stay on the M40 and get on the M25 it might be longer in miles but could be quicker

Wouldn't reckomend M40 as you get involved in M25/Heathrow traffic and Mi north joiners.
Look at map, take M6 toll past bham and carry on A14 at end as if going to Peterboro', dual carriageway all way and ignore A1 but take sign to Cambridge and head south to Stanstead on M11. Did it for a couple of seasons to get to Greenwich after game. Fastest time home (well current one) was sub 3 hours from Eastlands so allow 3 and half to get to Stanstead as that's 45 mins north of me. Never hit many traffic problems that end as I did near Knutsford.
Watch out for a few speed cameras (one after Mac Donalds on A14 and some average speed ones once you head south. All signed.

we are staying in Milton Keynes Wed night and have to get to Luton Airport for gates closed at half 7 on the Thur morning. With enough time to park what time would you think we should leave MK?
