And if you read their article we actually lost the fucking case except for two technical issues which just need to PL to tweak at their next meeting ffs

He said it would be difficult to see City winning this case… to be fair to him he probably wasn't privy to all of the information available to the IC at the time.

And you have just explained why the APT (and PSR and FFP) rules are a farce, and were solely designed to protect clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool, and hinder clubs like City and Newcastle.

That said, I am not convinced that the shareholder loans won’t now have to be retrospectively assessed given the language of the ruling. It will be a very difficult argument to make for any regulatory oversight that unfair competitive practices and asymmetric rules enforcement over a number of years, which brought about material advantage to some clubs and harm to others, should be ignored in some sort of amnesty, particularly when the entity declaring the amnesty is the one that wilfully brought about the unlawful advantage and harm.

It would be akin to a company being found guilty of financial fraud over five years and then claiming they should not be forced to pay damages or compensation as long as they promise to stop cooking the books moving forward.

Zieglers piece is just snidey in parts.

He mentions Etihad and First Abu Dhabi Bank deals from 2023 were blocked then goes on to say

"This is a potentially defining moment for the PL. will the other clubs just concede defeat and accept that the previous limits on state-owned clubs will no longer apply"
