City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

I'm interested by Stefan's tweet to the effect that Everton and Wolves will support PL "revised" regulations because their financial interests dictate that they do not want any interest to(fair value or not) applying to loans they have from their owners. Maybe, almost certainly probably - but does this not raise questions for Spurs? They covered the cost of their magnificent new stadium through loans raised at market value, did they not? Are we sure they wish to spare clubs, among which are numbered their bitterest rivals Arsenal, any interest payments at all on loans from their owners? And the rags, who I believe have only raised one loan (at 8% pa) and only pay out to their owners, are really prepared to vote to make sure their bitterest rivals (! _Liverpool!!!) do not have to pay any interest at all on their considerable sweetheart loans along with other top half rivals! Maybe voting is more complicated than we think.
I’d suggest that there’s a lot of lobbying in the PL, as we seen with the GPC and PL managers, and that those 2 clubs will be given the nod that they are within the fight for retaining PL status, even though they’re doing shit.

Maybe ‘tinfoil’ but nothing the PL does surprise me.

Blackmail this is not , a simple case of clubs looking after their own interests.

Wouldn't it be in Everton's interest to wait for the tribunal to provide clarity?

If the tribunal finds for the PL, they can vote after that. Nothing lost and nothing gained from this vote, that will be challenged anyway.

If the tribunal finds for City, then the whole APT rules don't exist any more and have to be be re-approved, so the vote will be meaningless. And then there is the question of whether the FFP/PSR rules will be null and void as well as a result. Everton would benefit from that, of course.

I really don't see how any club's lawyers suggesting voting for new rules that will either be delayed until the tribunal's judgment, or will be nullified after it, can be in anyone's interest. .

It doesn't really matter because City will continue their process irrespective of this vote, but it just makes the PL and the majority of its clubs look stupid, imho.

Shareholder loans could put them over the edge in terms of ATP.

This is now down to $$$$$$ and the clubs will be utterly selfish and to be fair I have no problem with that.

We have not taken this action for the good of football, we are looking after our interests just like the rest.
