City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

I’m happy to take this as a win, given that I have zero legal training.
I am however, a curmudgeonly cynic and part of me is now worrying that the PL have agreed to this “deal” (and will potentially allow the new etihad deal) as a means of getting City to “agree that APT rules are infact lawful”.
What’s to stop them throwing out our next sponsorship from any business who have employees that once went to the Middle East on holiday, and saying “you agreed this process was lawful so tough” ?

As I say, I’m not a lawyer, just a cynical old man and I do not trust the PL.

Maybe the part where it talks about both parties saying nothing is that there is something in place where they can’t knock back City’s sponsorships. That would get some piss boiling.

Sounds to me like the PL don’t want 2 losses to MCFC in a relatively short time period…
I say it comes in the next 3 Mondays in my non-expert opinion.

Quite a lot of misunderstanding about one of the technical FMV reasons why City’s Etihad sponsorship deal was rejected. One of the key reasons was the disagreement over the built in annual growth rate and, especially, the impact of that over the latter years. Here’s an illustration why (using a 24/25 base fee of £100m pa) comparing 5% (very hard to dispute) with 8% (more aggressive)…Image 14.jpeg

There will be an agreement in writing which will be expressed as binding on both parties. The PL dare not break that. The agreement will be tightly drafted by the expensive lawyers on both sides.

I know how strident Khaldoon has been about this fight, but this settlement, to me, makes an agreed upon resolution fo the 115 seem more likely. Probably one where we take a slap on the wrist for the lack of cooperation charges and are cleared of the bigger stuff. Just a guess from an American lawyer.
I can’t see Khaldoon accepting that, not after what he said.

Okay... How about swap

"Probably one where we take a slap on the wrist for the lack of cooperation charges and are cleared of the bigger stuff"

For

"Probably one where we agree that we won't sue the PL for every single penny they have after we have been fully exonerated"
