That's great. I would imagine the Yankees don't want any Mets colors involved in this.

I actually genuinely don't like that. It seems to be entirely based around mimicking the Yankees logo with us relegated to being a trim colour. Also it's just far too simple, heck it doesn't even mention NYC (I get the whole pentagon-for-the-5-boroughs thing, but to someone who comes across that badge for the first time they're hardly going to be able to work out who it's for.

I think that looks pretty abysmal myself, but am not sure the MLS style is what we're used too. I suppose also it's not being designed for us is it, it's being designed for Americans.

The fuck is that?! Great blog post but if that's the culmination of his efforts I think he took a wrong turn.

i agree, some of the worlds most iconic football clubs have more elaborate badge designs. i dont know what draws this guy toward these simplistic designs of dortmund, hamburger sv or palmeiras. look at real, barca, ac mailan, us and even the rags, they are elaborate and interesting designs that you can look at and inspect, not glance at and forget.

back to the drawing board and come up with something better - interesting and meaningful. not a 5 sided shape with fc on it. change the colours to red and white and put a 'k' in front of it and what do you get?
i think americans struggle to see a logo for something other than selling them consumerisms (if that is a word?) this logo must bring people together and become part of the community giving (or selling) something to itself!

Fast forward to 13.55 on the Inside City video.

Just listen to the Kids chanting City and bouncing around shortly afterwards. Lol!

Apparently, a NYC football supporters group is not happy with the City/Yankees partnership and have decided to back the new Cosmos team instead. This sort of "we don't have a team yet" supporters group isn't a new concept, as Philadelphia had something similar before MLS awarded their city a franchise.

The funny thing though, is that the Cosmos are just as artificial a creation as NYCFC will be, but I can understand the feeling of being upset that you have been advocating having a team in their city, then to find out it might just be a glorified feeder team for an English club. The other big factor is that probably 50% of the group hates the Yankees, and probably 90% hate City, as they already support another English club.

Sounds like they're just upset because their favoured choice for the past three years didn't get the licence.

Forget the Yankees, the Cubs are the real deal when it comes to Manchester City.

To paraphrase Francis Lee, If there were Cups for Cock -Ups the Chicago Cubs would win the lot.
