City league record - with & without Grealish starting

There are 4 prem wins without him starting all with 4 or 6 goals.

He does have good stats but not as Lewis' 6 wins in 6 all games and not even going to the World Cup! :)
Lol, Good point. You win. And Ortega has best record (100%) of any City keeper playing 2 games - so better than Gorden Banks ;))))

The games we've lost, we've started Bernardo on the right wing and had Gundo in midfield. Silva is wasted out on the wing. Against United we played Grealish left, Foden right and ripped them a new one. I don't know why he wont play this more often.

It's called "rotation" and it's for good reason, to prevent player "burn out".

Bernardo plays in multiple positions, but rarely gets a rest (also see Rodri), and on Saturday, despite still being one of our better players, he was also below par (for him).

People need to get over Saturday, it was shit on many scales, but these games happen every season, move on.

He needs to play I argue this point with everybody constantly, people talk about the lack of goals & assists but nobody mentions key passes because they don't get counted. He usually plays the pass that sets up the pass that sets up the goal he's so important.

The media and jealous fans of other clubs and easily influenced City fans can bang on about goals and assists and all the other guff they come out with til the cows come home but the salient facts are these ….. he gets picked most games by the best manager in the world for arguably the best team in the world ……one full season one league title.

In my book that makes him a huge success. We‘re lucky to have him at City, he would walk into any other side in Europe

It is an irrelevant stat as Grealish has minimal contribution to the wins. It is as good a stat as trying to derive something from a stat that provides info on wins on Sunny days vs Cloudy days.
If you play away at Stoke on a wet Wednesday night, statistically you are pissed off.

But he doesn't get picked most games.

6 starts out of 14 in the league
14th in the squad for PL minutes played but ahead of Mahrez and Alvarez.

It was the same for the 2nd half of last season.
From Jan 1st 2022, 9 starts out of 18 in the PL and 0 starts out of 6 in the Champions League k/o ties.

He's been a squad player for all of calendar year 2022. Post-world cup and the mad schedule in 2023 I bet we see much more of him and ample playing time to prove himself fully to Pep and move up the rotation.

At the moment this is all on Pep.

You say prove himself to Pep, that's your opinion, mine is some fans have to understand better what Grealish is and his importance to how the team plays.

Whether people consider him a success or not, what has to be clearly understood is that he does not — at all — have the same role as at Aston Villa, and with good reason, because we have stars all over the pitch, they had one star.

“easily influenced City fans”

He does get picked most games. You’re arbitrarily selecting random stats to support your argument and you aren’t taking into account games for which he was injured.

We judge players managers and teams over a whole season. In his only full season to date Jack started the majority of league games for the champions even accounting for his omission from the line up for a few games last winter which may well have been down to disciplinary issues rather than football matters.

He’s already fully proved himself to Pep.
