City live 2015/2016 5th August

There are posters here who really enjoyed this event tonight and great... Go next summer and thereafter.
I didn't go for personal reasons (but had bought tickets) ended up watching online... and thought it was dogturd.

Each to their own :)

For me it's too cheesey, americanized/disney dripfed entertainment for the masses.
The people on stage, such as players felt rather uncomfortable, quite evidenced in their body language/tone... most of them wouldn't wanna be there - they'd rather be fucking their supermodel birds or chillin' with their mates on the laughing gas...not stood their like gimps looking at a few thousand people who are in a sense of dillusionment that these guys really play for the shirt, they love the club as much as they do... in reality, if any other club came calling willing to pay more they'd be off on a plane ala Dzeko.

City is the supermarket... We are the customers, the players are the ones beeping your groceries at the checkout.

have you had a big loss at the bookies

It was just shit. Poorly presented, didn't know its target audience and to be square with you it was just fucking cheesy. No content whatsoever.

A wasted night. The wife bought the tickets, it's not something I'd do, it's for the anoraks and the scarfers generally speaking.

Some proper blues thrown amongst it, got the tunes going once or twice.

I won't go again.

shame, i`m sure you`ll be missed

Serious question. I wonder how many other clubs have a season opening event (and im not including throwing the stadium doors open and having the squad have a jog and a wuick kickabout on the pitch). Fwiw i think however disappointing the event was to some we should remain grateful we support a club who despite great wealth still understand the simple semantics that a clubs fans are its stakeholders.

Went the 1st year. Haven't been since. From what I've read on this thread It sounds as if it was a bit of a damp squid( no Fish jokes please ;-) ) last night. Obviously other people may disagree with that.

Was having a chat with the Mrs about it last night. She went the first year as well. Her instant reaction was the event went on for too long, and the content of the event/night was too much. In essence she thought the event should be shorter, and with less content.(more focused, relevant, and less drawn out)

From the posts it sounds like City Live is a bit like the Poznan. A great idea and fun at first, but people have got bored of it, and it may have already had it's day?

Think City need to look at City Live again, re-work it, make it shorter, with more focused and relevant content.(cut the cheese out for a start)

And yes, some of the players do look awkward on stage. TBH they look as if they don't want to be there, and they just want to go home.

I personally think it was much better last season for various reasons. Jason Manford did a cracking job presenting and it was on the back of a season where we won 2 trophies. In addition to that, the video narrated by David Threlfall really set the tone for the evening plus a great set by Johnny Marr at the end. Everyone seemed to be trying too hard this season and whilst I'm not knocking Wedderburn, he cannot hold a crowd like Manford can. He all seemed very uncomfortable to me and I actually think Mike McClean couldn've done it. Don't think I'll be going next year unless the format changes.

Thought Wedderburn on all fairness tried to get it going, he tried to bring a bit of fun and passion to the event. Can't knock the bloke for that.

That comedian who does half time at the ground is possibly the least funny person I've ever heard in my life.

I went last night as my wife wanted to. She is a 'new fan' and took my Dads season ticket when he died.

Let's just say she enjoyed it more than I did. I thought Wedderburn tried, the players did their duty and Spark (the drummers) were good at the end if not going on a little too long for that type of event. I kind of expected worse and whilst I won't be going again unless there is a big change it didn't upset me too much knowing it's not really aimed at me. I felt a bit for Black Rivers as most had left before their set.
