On a more serious note you can't do that kind of thing these days. Unfunny and lazy ethnic stereotyping especially isn't really tolerated on a mainstream front these days.
We can debate all day on whether it was truly offensive or not. Personally I thought the most offensive part was how poor the humour was. But it doesn't matter what any of us think. The fact is there were some people who were offended enough to report it, and presumably since it's got out there there'll be more offended people in tow. In this hyper brand/PR-conscious time of society not swiftly taking action and firing them would have reflected extremely poorly on City. They had to do it. And it's not like City needs any more bad press.
The two guys have my sympathies because one seemingly small infraction has cost them what may have been dream jobs. And that'll suck big time for them if that's the case. But they had to go, unfortunately. Hopefully they learn from this and aren't too poorly affected by it. And whoever replaces them at the club can learn from it too and not make the same mistake.
