City Matters - New Reps Required. Voting now open till 4/9

Hmmm reading the posts quite a few of us have accidentally voted for someone.

Typical City, fucking up voting since today.

Ergh I have and I have accidentally voted for Mr Armitage because I thought a profile would open up. If quite a few do the same he will win by default.

Oh well.
I managed to vote for the FOC rep who I knew about already but when I try to bring up the S/T rep I just get the endless blue circle.

city matters is little more than a box ticking exercise. god help any elected candidate who thinks they will make any difference.

The club can't half organise things, which by the sound of it is exactly what you got.

Not having a go at you personally but a few have said this and it couldn't be further from the truth. It can admittedly be a frustrating experience dealing with the club, who can often be quite inward looking, and I suspect Ferran Soriano couldn't really give two hoots about us.

But things are starting to change and that's because we've challenged the club, often very forcefully and often very constructively. And many of the reps, myself included, have helped individuals who couldn't get past Supporter Services. Being part of City Matters gives us that access and it gives me a huge amount of satisfaction when someone gets their seat back they thought they'd lost because the renewal process went wrong.

I'm genuinely interested to understand what it would take for you not to consider it a box-ticking exercise?

Remaining tickets

£85 for a Spurs match ticket, level 2.

£70 elsewhere.

The club really doesn't listen to or take much notice of the reps, bar issues 'they are' prepared to listen to and act on.

We've been having discussions with the club about governance and rotation of Reps on City Matters for a while and we've agreed a way forward. This means that two of us will be standing down and elections will take place for replacements. I'll be one of them, a Seasoncard Holders rep, and it looks like the current Over-65 Rep, Trish Robinson, will be the other. It's been 4 years since we started and I'm ready to hand over to someone else. The recruitment process will start next week apparently so keep your eyes open if you're interested.

Dealing with City can be frustrating but it's never less than interesting, and you realise that issues that seem black and white are actually usually far more complex and nuanced than they appear. It's also an exciting time, as the new COO, Roel De Vries, wants to do things differently and is keen to pull together strands where departments currently work in silos.

Happy to talk to anyone who might be interested. You will need to be a seasoncard holder to take over my current role but not necessarily for the 0ver-65 one. You will need to be a reasonably regular attendee though to ensure you represent that demographic's interests properly.
Nothing but utter respect for what you have done.

Sad to hear that their is this rotation but hopefully will mean you can have a couple of beers and enjoy the match.

Thank you for everything you’ve done.

Great work in saving people’s season tickets Colin. You have done a top job.

I think the test for the Club’s admin / leadership (and City Matters engagement is only part of this) is making more decision that benefit thousands of supporters rather than individual cases. I do think we have seen some improvements on a significant scale including the cheaper tickets for juniors at home games, the new bars in South Stand Level 1 and the away ticket allocation for 18-25 year olds. The ticket transfer system has improved too and the botched introduction of mobile ticketing has now bedded in.

It might be that some potential improvements discussed in City Matters don’t come to fruition for years. I don’t know enough about it. As I’ve posted before, Roel de Vries does seem to be somebody capable of leading changes that help the majority of our fan base. Those Bluemooners who wanted £100 season cards for adults or insisted that Supporters Ckub Branches wouldn’t survive the pandemic probably won’t ever be satisfied.
