City Matters thread

Season ticket holders will have got the voting invitation for City Matters reps. 8 candidates. It would be nice if whoever wins posted on here and used the forum as a sounding board. Does anyone know any of them?

Dave Djordjevic we would recommend for season ticket rep

Old skool blue and Sean Riley’s good mate.

Probably got through the clubs shortlisting because he doesn’t post on social media and is known to them from attending Blues In Business events and also doing great work for charity over the years with his business challenge for change.

But knowing Dave we think he would not let the fans down at all and speak his mind in the room.

Michael Woolley is up for the over 65s rep. We don’t know him that well he turned up once from Alty to the Etihad on a Sunday to help put out a display early doors even when trams needed replacement buses and he came because he knew we were short on number so character and commitment wise they are positives also his answers to our survey showed he would absolutely have a total understanding of what is needed and so we would say him for that role too

We don’t know any of the others
Good guidance mate. I thought his profile was ahead of the other three.
If he doesn't post on social media, how is he going to get a broad view of what season ticket holders think is important would be my only question.

Dave Djokevic is a proper Blue who's been going to tons of games for decades. He's quite well known in the fanbase and would be a good pick IMO.

From the over 65s I went with Mike Wooley. He's been involved with 1894 and helped with displays etc. Good sign that he might be a bit more vocal/active?

Hope whoever gets on can do their best and improve things for us.

Because not everyone is arsed enough posting on social media themselves but he will still read it - plus he goes all the games and knows everyone who goes how and away

Thanks vey much. That one was for the ticker tape at the derby, but I've done other things. 1894 have kindly supported me on X. My aim is to do all I can to support over 65s and prepare the ground for others on their way towards that age range.

I'd welcome support from fellow Blue Mooners.

If I were to be elected, I'd be happy to do that. I believe there are constraints on the information that can be given out, but I know this is a good place to get views.

Thanks

Michael Woolley

I don't agree with the way we are being rail-roaded by the Club regarding season ticket usage - HOWEVER, due to a family medical issue my son has missed games this season and is unlikely to meet the 10 games criteria but the Club readily agreed to exempt him from it. In fact they could not have been more sympathetic. The only proviso is that we must put his seat on the Exchange whenever he's unable to attend. That's fair enough in my book. Anyone in a similar situation should contact City before it's too late.
The club were great with me last season when I had a lot of hospital treatment. Only once did my ticket fail to sell in the exchange as well so I was not out of pocket. I missed about 8 home games I think.

To be fair, they didn't have the 10 game minimum personal attendance rule last season. We've heard some horror stories in past season about what the club aren't accepting.

We’ve heard plenty of good stories about how the club’s staff have been very flexible. Probably many more than the bad stories.
Well said young Timothy of the Oak, I have had excellent treatment from the club since I have been unable to attend matches as often. They have done and said everything they can to assist me.
Plus many of the stories I hear praise the staff.
As I was taught as a child , there’s good and bad in all of us. We just have to nurture and recognise the good side more.

After all human nature seems to shout about the bad more than the good. JMHO
