City monitoring the forum

A lot of posts on this thread have been very funny, and speak really to a sense of bewilderment that the club are seemingly doing this. But if they are, you do have to ask why.
Is the concern that there is organised illegal reselling of tickets on a large scale, much like the court case involving Liverpool at the moment. And if so, do they suspect our own fans of orchestrating it. Or, as many suspect, is the objective simply to find reasons, a pretext, to cancel the season tickets of genuine people, who might transfer the odd ticket to a friend or family member.
If it is the former, then I have no complaints. Any such organised touting needs to be stamped out obviously, but given that the club itself partners with most of the agencies named in the Liverpool case, I have my doubts. If it is the latter, and we are simply after the little people, there is to my mind a fundamental flaw. In that the market is just not there for many games to justify taking a season ticket away, in the hope of then selling it for top dollar. They are creating the empty seats, we are told they wish to avoid.
Personally I find it abhorrent that many clubs, not just City, openly have a commercial relationship with touts like Viagogo, but putting that to one side, could the club not be transparent about what they are trying to achieve with this. A proper explanation would go a long way towards removing a lot of the suspicion and anger.
I won’t hold my breath.

Yeah, Haaland’s arrival & the treble season are well & truly yesterday’s chip paper. More recent memories are staggering over the line for 4 in a row, then tossing off an fa cup final to them lot, and spending last season looking like a punch drunk over the hill boxer.
This won’t of gone down too well with tourists (who will still turn up to the really big games) they’ve been & seen Haaland, they’ve watched Pep scratching his head up & down the touch line, and watched us beat BM Madrid Liverpool Arsenal & them lot, plus all the trophies we won.
They’re now blaming our lack of dominance on Pep and the owners, all because the cycle has ended, they're not patient or passionate enough to go again, to get behind the lads, they’re not coming to Bournemouth or even Dortmund (a once plum tie). This coupled with the clubs ticket policies & alienation of its core support, and the sheer amount of football on offer, will see a reckoning, I always envisaged that to be post Pep

True. I work for a well known online bookmaker, bonus abusers are the scourge of my life. I often visit the forums and social media groups they hang out in looking for those dumb enough to use the same username/email address as they do for their online account so I can cut them off.
@Scottyboi - have you seen this shite mate?

Yeah, how dare punters avail of bonuses and free bets handed out by bookmakers. That's absolutely disgraceful behaviour. They should only ever spunk their money mug betting in order to make the bookies rich and plunge themselves into debt.

Happy to say I've accumulated about £40,000 profit from the bookies through matched betting over the past 7 years. It isn't as lucrative these days but I still make a good few hundred quid out of it every month and long may it continue.

Haha was too slow to catch me, them were the days easy money! Retired now though mate although I keep seeing 2ups coming in and getting fomo.

I agree with most of your post, but taking the highlighted portion:
A proper explanation would remove a lot of the suspicion, but might not assuage the anger if they are honest about maximising ticket income using all available sources.

That is a fair comment, but personally, even if I did not like or agree with the reasoning, I would still rather have the explanation.

:) they’re just my observations mate, not my feelings about Pep or the team, it’s what I read daily & experience at games, I’ll be at Bournemouth & Dortmund getting behind the lads, I’m in all 3 cup schemes and remain buoyant about our chances this season, fwiw I think we’ll go really close in the CL & I’ve booked a family holiday to Hungary in May. Don’t really think I’m being a doom merchant, I’m just discussing current topics at the club

It doesn’t stop there mate, make a few shrewd bets with a new account and you get closed down in no time. The way governments have gave more power to the bookies in the name of problem gamblers is an absolute disgrace. Like leaving the fox in charge of the henhouse. They can pretty much refuse to pay out profitable accounts these days with no end of red tape.

It took me over 2 hours and multiple calls and emails/messages to close an online betting account that was in the profit. That’s when I said I’d never place another bet in my life.

Spot on with that mate. They're all too quick to clamp down on someone who claims a £5 free bet but they're happy to see punters place mug bets for hundreds of pounds without question. The KYC rules that the government brought in may well have helped curb problem gamblers but they're also a convenient excuse for bookies to weed out value bettors and matched bettors.

I've had hundreds of pounds withheld down the years that I've still not gotten my hands on but I'm still massively in profit and continue to turn a profit so I'll continue until such a time as the antics of the bookies start to outweigh the positives

I spoke to a knowledgeable friend about this earlier. He laughed and said it's very easy to track people if you have the right technology.

Apparently, if you use the same email address for City membership as you do to access BM, you can be linked/traced without any need for access passwords etc.

He found my details through an old facebook account. Makes Big Brother look like child's play.

If City really want to know who's who, they will find out. Personally, I wouldn't trust the hierarchy as far as I could throw them.

Wrong if City want to contact someone on Bluemoon, they go via Ric, who contacts the person to ask if they are willing for their details to be be forwarded.
At least that is how it worked for me.

City build a 80,000 seater stadium, put escalators in, more lifts. Sign only world class players and go all out to effing bury the red tops.
10 quadruples in a row, anything less simply isn't good enough.
