Urmston cricket club will be ok or the Bird in Hand. Nelson just full of rags. Think the Bent Brook was also not bad for blues if they still show games.

I watched the feed-the-goat derby in the bent brook, on my own, didn’t know anyone, and it was a fair mix of red and blue.
No bother at all. Decent boozer in those days. Not been in for years mind.

What’s that pub opposite the hospital called? I had a spell of going in there quite regularly when my mum was in the nut house over the road.

Seemed quite a nice pub and clearly geared up for showing football. Probably full of United fans for a derby though I’d guess.

Shit hole! Avoid like the plague. Gone badly down hill. And was always a huge united pub.

I’d go church inn or bird, church is run by a blue from memory, decent ale and grub, however all the pubs in the area are mostly united. Their like rats.

Totally agree. Garricks head is or was a lovely looking pub from the outside but full of dickheads when me and a couple I knew walked through the doors a few years ago. Might have changed but doubt it. Has for Urmston it was rag central in the past.

Roebucks more of a restaurant.

Yeah mate, I’m sure there’s loads on here who’ve gone through something similar. Lot worse for my dad than me at the time though. Long time ago now though and I’m sure with her sense of humour she’d have wanted us to see the funny side of it all, amongst the bad times.
