Given that the media rather enjoy publishing negative articles about the club on a regular basis, and given that certain parts of said media would probably devour parts of their own anatomy to get a story such as this, does anyone actually think that our ownership hasn't already gone through the most rigorous of investigations?

Well the conspiracy theorists are out.

So our Manager has thanked some people and now some people want to believe the worst of the club. That they are lying about our owners and who has invested in the club

Damocles if you are so concerned why not write to the club expressing your concerns and/or apply for the audited accounts of the club which will show who is the shareholder in the club

Or even faced with written evidence that probably still wont convince you because some people always want to believe what they want to believe. Did you know that Robbie Williams believes that Area 51 has aliens in it and that after crashing at Roswell aliens invented velcro.

Just because of a remark of gratitude we have now had 7 pages of conspiracy rubbish. You believe what you want I believe the evidence in the accounts which state the club is owned solely by Sheikh Mansour

MCFC are owned by Manchester City Ltd, who are owned by Abu Dhabi United Investment and Development Group, who aren't registered over here.

* There is no mention of Sheikh Mohammed in the accounts
* The common courtesy point raised by Ajay
* Khaldoon Al Mubarak was thanked too

All of this against the OP's evidence is a speech by Mancini in which he thanked Sheikh Mohammed for a reason that is not clear, oh and the club did not refer to it on the OS. Someone better call in Mulder and Scully....

Regardless of ownership we were bought to promote Abu dhabi so why not thank the sheikh and ruler. It is politics and remember how often we used to have to thank the king of Thailand for political reasons.

Add in the fact that etihad, ferostaal, etislalat etc are owned entirely or mainly by the Abu dhabi sovereign wealth fund and you can see why Mancini would be thankful to more than just our direct owner.

It does make me crack up that even now when football wise things are amazing bluemoon is trying to find the negatives in our owner, the parade was talked more about tevez not being there and how we should fine him and have him shot than about us win ing something etc etc
