City reach Romelo Lakuku agreement?? {merged}

Re: Romelo Lukaku (Youngster)

Lets get real for a mintue here.

After This summer we wont be stumping up 25M on anyone for the next few years.

Lukaku's club want that amount for him and the only time we could get away offering that kind of money is if we do this window.

Tottenham wont spend over 18M on a forward and lets face darren bent as useful as he is as a player is going for that much.

Chelsea may stump up the cash but they havent gone over 18 million in a while - there last big signings were Rameries around 18 and zirkoff (sp) for around that figure too.

Also dont see U****d paying over odds - fergiscum often goes on about there's no value in the market (cnut)

So that leaves Arsenel - Wenger dropped a wad of cash on arseshaving but i dont see him risking 25 Million of their 'self sustained' monies on a 17 year old kid that could flop.

take your pick....i see him staying put for a year or two till madrid cough up.

Anderlecht president: Lukaku will go to England - Chelsea, Liverpool want him
18.01.11 | tribalfootball.com

Anderlecht are preparing for an auction for their teen sensation Romelu Lukaku.

The striker is wanted by Europe's biggest clubs.

Anderlecht president Herman van Holsbeeck said: “Our price will be around €30million [£25.2m].

“We received one offer from an English club three days before the end of the August transfer period. It was €10m [£8.4m] immediately and €10m in one year. We would not accept the offer because we wanted to keep the player."

That club is believed to be Chelsea and Van Holsbeeck continued: "I think he will go to the Premier League. For him the team is in England. We know that Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool are interested in him and that they follow the player.

"There is some interest from Real Madrid but we know they are interested in every good young player. What for us is the right club? The Premier League clubs from the UK are the biggest clubs in the world with a lot of money. In Spain you have only Real Madrid and Barcelona who have big money. In Italy there is also the financial crisis.

"At the end of the season it will be difficult for us to keep him. I know he was a supporter of Chelsea when he was a young boy. If Manchester United, Manchester City or Tottenham come in for him, it is also an interesting prospect.”

If we're talking about signing up top youngsters then this lad has to be on the list.

Lukaku currently plays for Anderlecht in Belgium and has been lighting up the league with his performances, and he scored again today. Thats now 3 goals in 7 appearance's. 2 of which were starts, like today. He has been likened to Eto'o, (we all know who he is), and is built like Rooney was at 16yrs old.Even at the age of 16, Belgium's national coach, Dick Advocaat, has been to watch the lad in action because of the lack of goals from his team. Its rumoured he may get called up when Belgium play their next friendly.

Anyone who watches the Belgian league will know who this lad is already, if not, check the next time Anderlecht play and you'll see the gift this youngster posses.

what? so he's a fat black version of quasimodo?

For your information, Football magazine (belgiian most important football magazine) has just posted on their site that Lukaku will sign today a contract with Manchester City (transfer will take place in july).

This is the link to the french article :

That's a very interesting development - what's the reliability of that website like?

If we're serious about signing the best young talent in World Football, they don't come much more feted than this kid.

Excellent news, if true

Romelu Lukaku Manchester City in July
While Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid held the rope, it's Manchester City in negotiations with the player for 15 days, which seems to dribble.

This evening will host the ceremony Golden Boot with two favorites: the Anderlechtois Mbark Boussoufa and Romelu Lukaku. For the young striker, it would be a first consecration before a transfer is imminent. Some have suggested a departure before the end of the winter transfer window. Yet another scenario is about to conclude, in all discretion.

Reliably, Lukaku is already reached agreement with Manchester City for a transfer in July, the club mancunien dribbling Favorites media, Liverpool and Chelsea. As for Real Madrid, he had already lost the battle, Lukaku had spoken this week for the English league. Counsel to the player have a meeting in Manchester on Wednesday to tie up the contract after working on the case for 15 days.

Very exciting if true.

Re: Romelo Lukaku (Youngster)

Just wanted to add that Belgium's emerging generation of footballers is being talked up as being destined for big things - they have some very good players coming through.

How exciting it would be if we had three of those players - Vince, Dedryck and Romelu Lukaku - playing for God's Own Club.

Football magazine is a reliable magazine in Belgium (it's the only weekly magazine in Belgium about football).

Of course, a news is only 100% sure when every party (Lukaku, City and RSCA) officialize it.

(My excuses for my bad English, but I tought this news could interest M. City fans).
