CITY: SHOWSEC, Atmosphere, & Blatant Bullying.

you raise a good point about the official supporters club. what the fuck do they actually do ? they are no where to be seen on issues such as show sec or ticket prices..... kevin parker and his crew dont seem to give a shit about ordinary fans. imo. the 1894 group represent fans so much more.

I have asked for it to be raised mate,I'll let you know if I get any response. The supporters club did push for the twenty's plenty scheme for away games, alright we didn't get £20 but £30s better than £60 odd at the Arse or £50 at bleeding Hull.

tbh mate i can't claim to know everything they do, but on some of the issues they do seem very quiet or stand offish. if they did that thats great and hopefully they do more.

It looks like a lot of comments on here are people giving up on season tickets for 2017/2018 season which will be a real shame. The club need to take note very quickly fans do have alternative ways to watch live football at home and in certain pubs. To watch the same 90 min football pay 30 or 40 quid at the stadium pay for over priced food and drink get treated like sh*t by showsec staff or sit in the pub or at home for 10% of what you would pay in the ground.

I know the National Federation of which our OSC is a part pushed really hard for reduced away ticket prices, and I can't tell you one of the clubs that objected as well.

I believe that if this harassment carries on we'll lose a couple of thousand season ticket holders, some who say they'll pack it in wont because it's hard to give up on tHe club you love, the social side was a huge factor in getting through the hard times, but they're making it such hard work to go & support the team, sometimes feels like your going into 'occupied' territory going to City now.
Tha fact that people like myself are even thinking like this should be a stark warning to the club but it isn't , I firmly believe they want a section of our fans 'replaced '.

Here's a little story.

But let me first state. I don't and have never expected any thanks, back slapping, favours, etc.

I did it for myself, the fans, and for the club, via positive PR exposure.

As you all know, for nearly 3 years I photographed the birth of the CFA and the expansion of the SS. I did it in my own time, on my day's off, and in all weather's.

The positive responses to my picture's on BM were great. Likewise I gained immense satisfaction that so many City fans in the UK and around the World were kept up to date with the CFA and the SS expansion via my picture's.

During this period I was invited to the club. It was when Jamie Oliver was showcasing his food. After the event I was introduced to Soriano. Let's put it this was. It was a walking, mumbling, response. I'll never forget it.

Perhaps I'm doing him a disservice, but first impressions last. And maybe, just maybe, I got a very short fleeting glimpse of the man who runs City.

And I'll say this now. And perhaps I'm wrong? But I'm 99.9% sure Gary Cook would have stopped, had a chat, and taken a bit of interest.

But don't worry, because if and when the NS expansion begins, and the Collar site proposal finally starts, I will be there again with my camera, taking picture's for my fellow City fans. Because at the end of the day it's the fans that matter. They will always be the club, regardless of Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon, or Soriano.

You are right @jrb we are the club, the fans.... But it just doesnt feel right for me right now due to the issues raised.

And I love city. I have very strong memories of being a blue.
Yet I won't be renewing my Seasoncard, because I love city and want to see change.

Those who wish to continue with what's going on, that is your choice.

My primary issue is with modern football and isn't necessarily man city's fault, although our new owners have significantly contributed to how modern football is run.

We have become another plastic club like united, Liverpool, whoever... Full of tourists, corporates.

Fuck this posh shit.

I remember going on the terraces as a kid in the 80's, standing up, everybody would sway around if we scored, it was fucking awesome and blokes could all congregate together and the humour was brilliant.

Now i might as well be watching it at the cinema.

Sat in 106 for years and never really had a problem. The stewards near us are the same few faces every game, you get to know them a bit and they seem decent enough. None of them in sight at the Celtic game though.

you make some really good points mate, but that i dont agree with. we haven't suddenly just become a plastic club or been replaced by tourists. the majority of city fans attending games are proper city fans. if you compare us to united they have coach loads of fans coming from london and wherever, we dont have that. not anywhere near the same numbers. out of all the big clubs we have the least imo. champions league games there are lots, but thats because most city fans can't be bothered going. the corporate sections i.e. the middle tiers were never wear the working class ordinary city fan sat really, they have always been the posh bit. the big difference is that our fan base has gotten older and the younger generation can't afford to go ( 18-30 ). I'm 22 barely anyone my age goes to the football, I'm sat in the south stand and most of the people around me are my dads age.

make it cheaper and the atmosphere will come back.

Preaching to the already converted bud. I'm fully aware that we aren't on the same level of synthetic materialism as the Rags and Dippers are but I can just see it.

Standing on the doors for months on end right in the city centre makes you realise one thing - the traditional Mancunian, with Irish family history is long gone.
Everywhere you look its a swarm of Chinese.

Matchday I agree we are still the traditional fan base, and when rags are at home I'm constantly giving people directions to the cricket ground ;) as they don't have a clue where "their" team plays.

But I'm slowly seeing it creeping in.
Tourists at the stadium, asking me for directions, holding city Cartier bags after being shopping at the store on market street.

Its far from the same level as united but its fucking happening and Soriano and co. Are loving this shit.

I'm just here for the football, and to support the same club as my family have and so on.

This capitalist bollocks just makes it one big experience, like going to a theme park.
