CITY: SHOWSEC, Atmosphere, & Blatant Bullying.

I believe that if this harassment carries on we'll lose a couple of thousand season ticket holders, some who say they'll pack it in wont because it's hard to give up on tHe club you love, the social side was a huge factor in getting through the hard times, but they're making it such hard work to go & support the team, sometimes feels like your going into 'occupied' territory going to City now.
Tha fact that people like myself are even thinking like this should be a stark warning to the club but it isn't , I firmly believe they want a section of our fans 'replaced '.

I gave up CL scheme due to the PSG ticket prices last season. I went to the Barca game but skipped the other two. It's little things that piss fans off and they are playing a risky game because I'm not sure we have the interest for tourists to take up the slack. I know a few rags who gave it up years ago and don't miss it at all now.

you make some really good points mate, but that i dont agree with. we haven't suddenly just become a plastic club or been replaced by tourists. the majority of city fans attending games are proper city fans. if you compare us to united they have coach loads of fans coming from london and wherever, we dont have that. not anywhere near the same numbers. out of all the big clubs we have the least imo. champions league games there are lots, but thats because most city fans can't be bothered going. the corporate sections i.e. the middle tiers were never wear the working class ordinary city fan sat really, they have always been the posh bit. the big difference is that our fan base has gotten older and the younger generation can't afford to go ( 18-30 ). I'm 22 barely anyone my age goes to the football, I'm sat in the south stand and most of the people around me are my dads age.

make it cheaper and the atmosphere will come back.

Agree with a lot of that but not the middle tier bit. I sat on middle tier from moving there until the start of last season when I moved to SS3 due to the rise in prices. There were lots of normal working class fellas on the middle tier where I sat. It got "posher" after the success but for 9 years before that it wasn't.

I sat in level 2 east stand near the half way line from moving from maine rd til' last year, me and my mate been season ticket holders for 50 years. I had to move because I couldn't afford the new "corporate rate". The club don't understand the culture of their own fans, or choose to have it sanitised to suit their vision. There will only be one winner and it will not be the "typical long term supporter.
Stick with your mates support your heritage and your history, this is our culture and we are tasked with preserving it for the next generation.

you raise a good point about the official supporters club. what the fuck do they actually do ? they are no where to be seen on issues such as show sec or ticket prices..... kevin parker and his crew dont seem to give a shit about ordinary fans. imo. the 1894 group represent fans so much more.

Turkeys don't vote for Xmas.

Gary Cook, and his lovely assistant, came to one of BM's Christmas do's once. He shook lots of hands and actually listened to a lot of drunk fat bald men squeezed into ill fitting suits.

Can't see the modern lot doing that.

I was at the same 'event' as @jrb and I spoke to Khaldoon, it was me that was a bit tongue tied there, and he seemed the total opposite. He spoke to people and I was impressed by the way he appeared to be listening to what the fans were saying to him. However we shall see I guess.

Seem to remember that a lot of people were saying similar things last season, not sure if they did kick their season tickets into touch but time will tell how things go. JMHO

Plus when Gary Cook was in Canada/USA for the pre season a few years ago he was chatting away to fans, he even had his photo taken with my granddaughters. Some of the Eccles Supporters once met him in a pub in London after a match and he bought them all drinks and stayed talking to them for a while.

When we moved from m/r we were allocated the same seats ? We were in AA lower in the kippax at the back (watch last days of Maine Road YouTube) that's us with the flag and the flare we ended up on level 2 next to the north stand all those that sat in AA within 2 seasons had moved on so we did to the north stand lower great atmosphere same people week after week then we had to move they were turn it into the family on holiday stand then to 111 last season we moved up to 315 £380 we carn't say no it felt like home people you hadn't seen for years faces you remember from the kippax last year singing people up and down no body complained there all blue now this every game sit down or your out I'm banned in all my years of following the blues in never thought I'm not renewing it never entered my head now it has I feel betrayed by the club I've followed since I was a boy

Is there a way we can get through to the club how serious this is, long time blues thinking of packing it in, it's tragic.

Assuming this is a Showsec steward, if so, nice to see a lighter side to them!

I hate to think where he would end up if a Showsec steward got lifted up at City!

There you go. There are always two different stories. ( have City promised EB a free Tunnel Club season ticket for next season? ;-) )

I suppose when you've been talking, pressing the flesh, and eating all Afternoon, the last thing you want to do is to speak to a Geek with a point and shoot camera at the end of the event. :-)

The food was nice though. Even though I only had one Burger. I turned the hot dog and wild boar barmcake down. Saying that, the food isn't like that in real life and on the concourses.

For some reason I've never been invited back since. Maybe it's because I pressed Jamie about his Fanfayre company, and asked a few stupid questions? :-? At least I've still got his signed cook book. Can't find the Etihad steak peppered pie in it.
