City stranded in Milan (fans)

Someone noticed that we were put onto the buses to take us to the plane just shy of two hours after waiting at the airport.

EU rules say that if you're delayed for more than two hours, then you're entitled to refreshments. So I think if they start 'boarding' then they can get around this. We got on the buses for a bit, then had to get off, then back on again and all that stuff.

Think we were sat around on the plane for almost an hour. A woman asked for a bottle of water and was refused!

What an epic 18 travel journey, first of all me and my mate got on the wrong bus we went to Malpensa when it should have been Bergamo, queue a 150 Euro taxi ride back to Bergamo to get Liverpool flight, didnt make it so ended up getting standby tickets for Stansted flight, then the Liverpool flight as well the rest of the other flights cancelled, but luckily the only flight to get out we managed to be on to Stansted so my fuck up ended up been a blessing in disguise. A big thanks to the blues going back to Mossley who gave us a lift back up North bloody stars. Feel sorry for all those blues trapped there it was total chaos in Bergamo and they said the flight to Liverpool wasn't until Monday. Still had a great time but I think my next trip will be to Dublin in May hopefully.

My mate is stuck out there still. He was meant to get the flight from Milan to Liverpool which was canceled. Ryan Air have sent them over to Verona they have been traveling for 24hrs no sleep. Said the weather is as bad over threre as here hoping to get a flight to leeds (his car is in liverpool) Nasty.

The price of the car parking will end up dearer than the flights.
If he is from manchester he would be better getting the Speke Express from Shudehill or Sackville Street with Terravision in future, only about £10 return & they run from 04.25 - 0.15 daily.
(though this may not be much use if he is not from Manchester)

Here is my story: -

Was due on the Bergamo flight to Liverpool. Got to Porto Nuova train station at 10 to find out the first train is at 10:50, 2 hour trip. This made it touch and go to get there for the flight. Got to Milan at 13:05, jumped in a taxi but didn't have enough Euros (95 euro) so jumped out. Internet cafe to see what i could grab, got on the Malpenza to Luton flight for 75 euro (BARGAIN!). This was due to go at 21:20.

Waited in Milan for Greenie and co who arrived at 17:00, and immediately got a text saying the Ryanair flight to Liverpool was cancelled. So dodged one bullet of a 90 euro taxi for nowt.

Got to Malpensa with Greenie and co, cancellations everywhere. Think i heard the word fuck in about 7 different languages. Barcelona, cancelled! Berlin, cancelled! Amsterdam? Cancelled! Then London Gatwick got chucked and the arses started to go.

Delay went up on the board which warmed hearts and they let us board. Some guy just crashed passport control by opening some double doors, clueless he was haha! Then after another 45 min wait we were allowed to board. Another 40 minutes whilst the plane was de-iced (arsehole went from a 5p to 50p piece at this point) and off we went.

As the lager cart came around, suddenly they were pulled back and an intense discussion took place at the back of the plane. Daz heard the word 'diversion' mentioned but there was a nervousness at the back, even from Greenie who has done around 100 flights now saying 'I don't like the sound of this'. Sent me west and put me off opening my Becks. We think they wanted to dump the plane down in Paris but obviously the pilot decided to push on.

Then the minibus trip from Luton to practically my door (thanks Tracy!!!) got us back at 4am, around 16 hours after i planned to get back.

Looking back, i was VERY VERY lucky with the series of events on my first City away, one definitely i will not forget! Bet those Luton flights went price crazy about an hour after i booked on mine.

Haha I got on this flight and was seating right at the back when the suspicious discussion was taking place although I think it was just the stewardess'' falling out. The taller stewardess was getting pretty stroppy with the short one.

I feel pretty lucky to be home TBH. Thanks to the blues from Bury who gave us a lift back, we'd have been stuck without it.

Which one mate? Bergamo or Malpensa? Rather be at Malpenza, at least it is bigger!

We went by train from Manchester 7.00am wed thro London Eurostar Paris then Paris to Turino.
All went well except owing to ongoind dispute between French and Italian rail we had to get off at the border and the last bit was done by a fleet of buses to Turin Station. We arrived at our hotel at about 9.00 pm.
We then had full day Thursday super City Turin and then the worst bit was at the match as we coul hardly see the match where we were all penned. It was a disgrace the way we were locked in afterwards then the crush going through small gate.
We left Friday morning again by bus from Turin to border [this should have been rail]
Great drive thro blizzard inAlps and noticed no vehicles coming the other way as roads closed with lots vehicles piled up waiting at side of the road. Our buses got through superbly but we were late leaving the border waiting for Milan passengers. We then missed all our connections home but these were all rescheduled as we went along. We were given a food hamper for delay and got back to London at 9.00pm. We had missed our Manchester train but this was changed leaving first class home at 9.40. we got back to Piccadilly at 00.15 waited an hour for a taxi and finally got home at about 2.00am.
We didnt see any City fans on this easy and fantastic trip and the delays and bus changes just added to the trip. Cost was about £250 each plus hotel at 120 euros for the 2 nights. Amazed so many flew when this was an option. We did same to Schalke but there were a few fans on that rail trip

Well just got back from Italy and all I can say is what a knightmare. Was booked on the Milan Bergamo flight on Friday which eventually got cancelled after sitting on the runway for 2 hours. Never seen anything like it in the airport after it was madness. Ended up getting a bus back to Milan then a train Venice which took about 4 and a half hours. Night in Venice then flight back to Leeds Bradford this morning. Had to pay for flights to get back couldn't change original ones. Ryanair were shocking no help what at all just got next flight to Liverpool is Monday. About another 15 blues on our flight from Venice but were far more on the original flight from Milan so not sure where the rest went. Just happy to be home. Hope everyone else makes it back okay. Official trip for me next time
