Cup games aside what games from the past did we really take a huge following across to the unwashed? Obviously since it became all ticket things have changed. Talking of Cup games a few tell me there was a big rag following in the open Scoreboard End at Maine Road for the League Cup Semi in 1970. Anyone any thoughts and reflections on past games with our *spits Neighbours?

My dad told me he was in the rag end for the law backheel derby, apparently there were a few in there that day.

same here, my dad, his dad, his dads brother and his cousin were sat in "the stretford end" and jumped up when law scored, to be pelted with coins, spat on etc for the remainder of the match lol

I was at that 1974 'backheel derby' , that was an evenful afternoon to say the least ..... it was hard to tell how many City fans were actually there on that day .... i , myself , was in a home end of the ground (United Road paddock).

The most City fans i've ever seen at OT was for the FA Cup match in the eighties , when Varadi had a 'goal' ruled out ....... Whiteside won the game for them 1-0 ........ and about 13.000 City fans were stood at the Scoreboard End of the ground , in the seats above it , and to the side of it.

For ordinary league games we have had a number of derbies where our support has 'exceeded' their old scoreboard end capacity , and has been extended part-way up the old united road side of the ground ..... hard to say how many fans that entailed ..... probably 4,000/5,000 , but could easily have been many more.

city regularly took over the scoreboard end at the swamp in the sixties and I was there in the Stretford paddock when Law scored THAT goal me and my mate jumped up and got chased by a load of neanderthol rag fans

there was a load of us in the old trafford paddock one wednesday night game, we had blue balloons and the police had to surround us and kept us in after the game with the rest of city fans. was funny the main support at one end as us at the other.was the bit next to the stretford end .

foolishly in my late teens i was in the stretford end seats and stood up singing city songs !! was funny seeing everyone with steam coming out of their ears , and no f*cker did anything !!!

In the seventies, when tickets were less restricted, we use to have loads all around Old Trafford for some derbies.

In the mid-late 80s we used to get between 7 and 9 thousand tickets - the scoreboard end, sometimes around the corner to the Utd Road paddock and some seats near where we get them now. We had over 13,000 there for a cup game.

There've always been Blues in there end, too, including a few years where hundreds gathered together singing in the Streford Paddock.

Only about twenty seconds then as the rags invaded the pitch

I was there that night but with the main support below K-Stand. Great night, Giggs bagged, Pointon got sent off, Curle scored a penalty and a lad ran the length of the pitch to jump on Curley and then run in with us. We really should have won though.

I'll never ever forget the sight of you lot at the other end when we scored. It looked amazing.

Me and a mate were at the 4-2 Cup game about 5/6 years ago when Gary Neville got sent off.

We were in the 2nd tier at the Stretford End and were under strict instruction to "try and keep quiet".

After a few Stellas before the match coupled with a game with 6 goals and a deserved red card for one of their more hated players, it was hard to "keep quiet".

Quite a few insults were thrown in our direction but nothing more - we did well not to rise to the bait. I didnt spot any other blues near us unless they were sensible enough to keep it schtum!
