city taking legal action

Typical lazy 'journalism' by the tabloids. They have obviously fabricated the entire thing... is a story about City players receiving watches really going to sell that many more papers than normal? I doubt it.

Regardless of the story or its impact on the fans, the club or the sheikh, this is yet another example of the God-awful press in the UK. The tabloids are fodder for the fucking clueless and anyone who writes for them should get a proper fucking job.

And I couldn't care less if you don't agree with me.

Lazy? Maybe.
Embellished? Probably.
Actionable? No.

I'd fuck off to Australia if I were you mate.

As much as i think the Sun newspaper is a bag of shite (except the page 3 section of course!) , i can't really see why City are so upset over this ...... it's hardly an earth shattering article.

Believe it or not, people do actually believe something that is in print. The story about the watches will be all over the show and few will think that it is a pile of nonsense. Few people who read The Sun will take the footy articles with a pinch of salt.

Nonsense about MCFC should be jumped on and I think the RAG redtops need to be smacked right in their pocket. I'd also ban from City premises the offending reporter until they recant the bile.

exchange of e-mails/letters about the story that may run something like this...

City protest: it isn't true.
Sun says it is (and/or) and one of your staff said so.
City say okay but value of watches overstated.
Sun say we took a guess based on the make, sheikh's legendary generosity etc.
City demand noticeable correction on back page.
Sun put one/two par amendment buried in worst part of the paper on day of lowest sales.
City protest but cautiously so... as they know (for now, at least) sometimes it pays to have certain sections of the press onside.

No court case, no massive payouts, no defamation, no drama, no hysteria. Not what most on here want to hear and I'm sorry to disappoint those of you who think they know how the press and football clubs work together.

Am I defending it? No. Just telling you how it is.

"However, the sheik did not hand out Franck Muller watches worth £168,000 to each of City's first-team players, as has been previously reported."

Fucking idiots
Look under Boj though "but fringe striker Valeri Bojinov (right) is already offering his wrist for a new watch" twats.

To be fair, that was changed quite early yesterday afternoon as it was posted on here.
