city taking legal action

The Club made it crystal clear earlier this year that if the Press wanted to check a story, to ask the Club first. If they didn't and then went on to print unsubstantiated lies, then the club also made it clear it would sue.
End of the day, they were warned.

they won't be sued

This is a blatant attempt to damage the reputation of our new owners, unsettle the players at our club and basically just make people hate Manchester City Football Club. It's very serious IMO, and I hope the club fucking fleece the chip paper producers.

On a lighter note, I could think of one or two players that deserve the gold watch, if you know what I mean!?

Typical lazy 'journalism' by the tabloids. They have obviously fabricated the entire thing... is a story about City players receiving watches really going to sell that many more papers than normal? I doubt it.

Regardless of the story or its impact on the fans, the club or the sheikh, this is yet another example of the God-awful press in the UK. The tabloids are fodder for the fucking clueless and anyone who writes for them should get a proper fucking job.

And I couldn't care less if you don't agree with me.

I was discussing the article at work and thought only Stevie deserved any sort of gift for his Player of the Year award. Why would the newbies receive expensive gifts? Really glad to see it was a false story, although HM Customs & Excise are probably disappointed as the lads would have had to pay a small fortune.

I'm glad someone is taking the rag pieces of shit out and sorting them out because they are too easily getting away with printing shit up about our club, almost everyday there is at lease one paper having a dig, whether its the writer or even twisting words to make something out of nothing.

Had a look at the Mail and the Mirror this morning and can't remember which one but one of them mentioned £178k watches being handed out.

so they will be next on the list lol

Edit: Its the mail and they've just changed their web page - obviuously shitting it...

"However, the sheik did not hand out Franck Muller watches worth £168,000 to each of City's first-team players, as has been previously reported."

Fucking idiots

City is taking action, I think, to avoid other City players misunderstand as news say watch for everybody and worth 168,000 Pound.

This is what I think
Watches given to 4 players only who definitely met with owner.
I cannot see why players and manager was there but was not called to meet with proud owner.
And it’s very common that sheikh has given watches to them as it is this country tradition when you meet with sheikh or UAE representative.
But very very doubt about “limited edition” could worth 168,000 pound.
My friend who works in an embassy in UAE met with a sheikh. Sheikh gave watch to everybody as usual. That watch is worth about 2,000 USD in market but only automatic movement available. My friend’s watch is quartz watch which is “limited edition” not available in the market.
Most likely, UAE order watch from manufacturer to make cheaper than original watch for given to people in official ceremony.
My friend not use and sold to me friendly price, very cheap lol

That’s why it says later on that watch not given to everybody and legal action taking to avoid misunderstanding of expensive gift for few but not for all players that can damage team spirit, isn’t it?
