City target Bilbao's Ander Herrera

Not a great game but he was certainly one of the better players on show.Played a couple of nice through balls and just made a fantastic challenge in own box after tracking the Sporting player some distance.

He would directly challenge Nasri IMO,probably offering more overall,he is certainly busier.

he need a All round CM not a attacking mid come on arent there any good ones available.Fuck it buy alex song and get it over with.If only.

What do people think of his performance tonight? Only seen the last 5-10mins or so.

First time I've ever really paid attention to him as in the past I've concentrated more on Muniain, Llorente, Martinez and Susaeta, but I thought he was fantastic tonight. I wasn't particularly excited when I heard we were linked with him but after tonight I can see why: great feet, passing, vision and works hard. I don't really think that he's what we need right now but I wouldn't be disappointed if we did sign him.

Thought the first half marginally belonged to Munain but the second half was definitely Herrera. Some great moves and always looking to attack, complimented perfectly by some great runs back to help out defending. Not entirely sure he is supposed to replace at City though, because he deserves to be playing more than a bit part role from the looks of things.

Maybe to share the load with barry? Hopefully we'll be in the cups for longer next year so a lot more games.

Potentially, he certainly plays deeper than Silva and Nasri do for us, but I think our midfield would lack a bit of grit if he played in Barry's role. He's a very good player, but I'd rather us give Milner more game time and spend the £15-£20m that Herrera would cost us elsewhere.

Same here. Or sell Milner & spend all the money on someone better than both of them.
