City to expand Etihad to 62,000?

I dont see the point expanding anymore.
The ammount of empty seats on wednesday was embarrassing

Its the clubs policy on ticketing....as a season ticket holder you are allowed to sell your ticket back to the club 6 times in a season. Once you have reached that number there can be no more 'trades'.

So at the end of the season most 'long distance travellers' like myself and my wife have reached their limit (we cant always make it from Suffolk for the mid week matches) hence the empty seats... but they are still 'sold' and the club is able to count us as being in the attendees, likewise tickets that are put up for trade with the club but not sold for any reason.

I personally think that the club should go for expansion and do one of two things

1) Use the additional seats sold to peg the prices elsewhere in the ground (extra revenue from the sales subsidises the rest of us)
2) Offer a cheap youth season ticket to attract the younger supporter which will feed through to club revenues for many years

There should be rewards & penalities for people who have season tickets & do/don't use their seat imo. Especially in the prime locations.

It could easily be done, if the club wasn't so desperate to claw every cent out of ST holders.

So if I have to miss a midweek game because I work in London and can’t get away, I get fined?

It's all very well complaining about empty seats, but the issue of entry and exit to the Etihad is a huge one, just like the queues to get in and the ones at the metrolink afterwards. At some point this will all have to be addressed.

So what happens if you are ill or have serious family issues or cannot make the game due to a revised or changed kick off date or time?
Just punish them anyway?

I am not interested in all the possible exceptions, they would be discussed with the club in all cases.

What happens if you can't buy a season ticket at all because you need the money to have a new set of teeth fitted on a trip to India, is not relevant either.

Mid week games (especially rearranged ones) can be a struggle for some season ticket holders, especially those travelling long distances or with work commitments.

Plus, there was a train strike on.

Bank holiday week as well, so plenty of people are away on holiday

OK - I have missed 7 home games this season due to a variety of reasons. That's almost 40% of home games.
I have been a season ticket holder since 1981. Should I be punished?

So exactly what punishment do you believe I should receive off the club?
Please be specific.

I think you should get loyalty points when you attend each game & lose loyalty points for games when you don't. The eventual points total, decides the price of your season ticket for the following year. If you miss loads of games over several seasons, you have to satisfy the club you are not a ticket tout or a lazy bastard with loads of money.
