It's across the wires. Business Desk North West, ITV, etc.

What a distasteful picture for sky to use of all the pictures, especially considering it's two rugby teams lined up on it. Some journos seem to go out of their way to show how thick they are

So what logical reason is someone going to come out with for using THAT picture?

I tend to try and not lean on the side of agenda but f**k me they don't help themselves!

COUNCILLORS in Manchester have approved Manchester City's plans to add another 14,500 seats at the Etihad Stadium.

The club wants to extend the north and south stands by 6,250 seats each and create an extra 2,000 seats around the pitch.

The changes, expected to be finished in time for the 2015-16 season, will increase the number of seats at the ground by 30% from 47,670 to 62,170.

The club has said construction work will create 160 temporary jobs and the extended stadium would require an extra 220 match day staff.

A report prepared ahead of today's planning meeting said: "The expansion of the stadium will provide enhanced facilities which will help to create a stadium of national and international profile and improve the visitor experience. The appearance of the south and north stands and create a more prominent landmark feature at the centre of the Etihad Campus and East Manchester."

It added: "Whilst there will be some impact arising from the development it is considered that the aspects of the proposal have been designed to minimise the impact on nearby residential properties, for example, design of the roof to avoid overshadowing, consideration of the lighting to avoid sky glow and glare and management of deliveries and operating hours."

The problem with that picture isn't even that its not from a football/City match, or that there are lots of empty seats - it's that the intention behind taking that picture is blindingly obvious and they have used an image totally out of context

Yet more balance about our Stadium expansion plans

No bias in the media though is there?

Fucking Mitchells

There is no agenda.

Therefore, throwing up a stadium with a bunch of empty seats must be because Sky wanted to draw attention to that image of Lee Rigby, who served in a new regiment comprised, in part, from the old Lancashire Fusiliers. Lee Rigby was from Middleton, right? Was he a blue? No idea. Still it's the thought that counts and Sky also probably wanted people to connect this tribute to Lee and all things Lancashire the day after this

Nice one Sky.

edit: Lee Rigby who was murdered by Hasidic Jews, remember?
