Interestingly enough City have now moved from 'open minded' to' fully supportive' of safe standing. According to Daniel Taylor of The Guardian.
Are the plans submitted for the South Stand easily modified for safe standing? Is the capability actually built in for retrospective refit?Puppet Master Silva said:Interestingly enough City have now moved from 'open minded' to' fully supportive' of safe standing. You mean taking the seats out? ;-)ColinLee said:Is the capability actually built in for retrospective refit?

How does safe standing benefits clubs apart from maybe improving the atmosphere? It's not like you get 2 fans per seating?

Apparently it's 1.8 fans from what I've been reading. The seats are smaller and closer together.
Compare those seats(below) to the size of the seats and distance between the seats at City.
It also means you are closer to the fan either side of you, giving it a more traditional standing feel.
Imagine 3 blocks of those seats in the Kippax corner or SS.

Yes, very good.gordondaviesmoustache said:You mean taking the seats out? ;-)ColinLee said:Is the capability actually built in for retrospective refit?
I think so, yes (see above picture). I would doubt the club would be lending their seemingly unqualified support to the initiative unless it involved little or no structural work to the proposed stand, as is presumably the case in Germany.ColinLee said:Yes, very good.gordondaviesmoustache said:You mean taking the seats out? ;-)ColinLee said:Is the capability actually built in for retrospective refit?
But are the concrete terraces the same size (depth & height) so the seats could be just replaced with rails or are the specs different?
