Exactly what I thought, it comes down entirely to logistics regarding stadium AND site access. I've no doubt they considered doing both at the same time but have come to the sensible conclusion that it would give too many headaches. Build the South Stand, relocate City Square and the shop(or is that located in the bottom of the South Stand, can't find the damn planning portal now) and then do the North Stand. They have planning permission for both ends, so they'll build both, get the south stand cleared up, then build the north stand as soon as they have finished. Planning permission will have time constraints, so if they leave it a long time they would probably have to re-apply.

Any idea on timescale for completion of the South Stand?

Don't think they're waiting to see what sales are like, I think they're convinced (as am I) that we'll sell them regardless. It's purely for logistical purposes.
