City - United Post Match Thread

Superb performance for 70 mins. Total domination.

All the players played a part. Kompany was just outstanding for me.

Without Rooney they would be outside top 4. Pity he didn't leave.

Happy days are here again!!
Ok, first the possession stats: - Yes they had a lot of the ball, probably more than 50%, but they did bugger all with it.
We had 70% in Naples but lost, so possession on its own is irrelevant. There was a long spell when we were one up where we couldn't get a kick and on the odd occasions we got it we gave it straight back to them. But so what? They didn't cause us any problems did they? We even stopped playing after the fourth but it still took them another 15 minutes to get one on target. That was in the 67th minute.
Everybody played well, though Hart had bugger all to do most of the time, but the nice thing is we could have scored even more. There were a couple of moves towards the end of the first half that were inches away from playing someone in, Alf had a good chance and put another just wide and De Gea nearly spilled one over the line.
As has already been said; Nasri had a great game, Vince didn't give shredded wheat head a kick, and Alek showed what he can do. And Zab was magnificent, but we're used to that.
Revenge against the pie-eaters on Tuesday and three points at Villa will be a nice way to continue.

Posted in the pre match thread saying a comfortable 4-1. We're better than them all over the pitch, as long as we go out every week with the belief we did from the first whistle today then there's no reason we can't win a fucking shedload this year.
Voice is gone, atmosphere was absolutely buzzing and the boys played their roles to perfection, each and every one of them.
Long night in work going to pass a lot easier me thinks - cheers you fucking blue beauty's!

They didn't have a massive amount of possession until we were comfortably winning though. The stats came up about 2/3 of the way through the first half and we were on 67% possession. After the next two goals in quick succession, we basically sat back and invited them to have a go, playing a counter-attacking game. I have no doubt we could've quite easily dominated possession if we wanted to. Their possession stats only reflect how quickly the game was won.

Looking forward to listening to Brazil on t/s in the morning. He has been talking up "Davie" Moyes for weeks and he has a crate of champers bet with one of the journalists who appear on the show , that utd will finish above city.
