City - United Post Match Thread

I am back on my way to Edinburgh. Prior to this my first Manchester derby was in 1963 (1-1 at Maine Road with a late United equalizer) and my last was in 1974 (1-0n at Old Trafford with a Denis Law back-heeler). Between those two I went to Old Trafford for seven League matches and City won six and drew one.

I have never seen a more dominant display than City provided today. The nearest was the City 3-1 at the swamp when George Best scored early on for United and after that Colin Bell demolished them in the Championship winning season 1967-68.

I can't shake the feeling that despite an immense win today, we have missed an opportunity. At 4-0 they were there for the slaughter like a little injured bird surrounded by lions. We could have gone for the jugular and seriously, I mean seriously, embarrassed them. 4-1 is a thrashing, no doubt, but just think of the psychological damage a 7, 8 or 9-0 drubbing would have done to them. I understand why the players took their foot off the gas with big games coming up, but I just can't help thinking that if we'd destroyed them completely it would have damaged them and Moyes in a way that they wouldn't be coming back from anytime soon.

Kompany was MotM by a mile by the way - he must have said something to previously upset Gary Neville - either that or Neville is a clueless pundit.

Hopefully Davey will have a job for life at the swamp, totally out of his depth, couldnt attract a fly if he was covered in shit never mind a top quality player. For 65 minutes they were like lambs to the slaughter, they only got into it when we took our foot of the gas. Hopefully Liverpool will stick the knife in a little more on Weds.

He played very well for them - only really came into it when it was 4-0 though
