City - United Post Match Thread

I just thought i'd renind you of the comments posted in the 'Opposition View' blog before the game.

Fair play to matey for contributing, but he is so out of touch & typical of all red tinted raggies;

With the addition of Fellaini we now look infinitely stronger in CM with Carrick, Cleverley, Anderson and potentially Fletcher.
The AM consists of Kagawa, Nani, Valencia, Young, Zaha and Januzaj; a superb combination of pace, flair and creativity.
And up top, we've got the most potent forward line in the league without question in RVP, Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez.
This is genuinely the strongest squad of players we've probably ever had.

The bookies have us as favourites in the title race after the weekends passings.

People obviously taking note of the manner of the performance; hopefully we can kick on in confident style.

City 2.87
Chelsea 4.00
United 5.00
Arsenal 7.00
Spurs 11.00
Liverpool 13.00

It was obvious after an hour that we had switched off and had our minds on tougher games to follow. Bit disappointed with the scum line up as I was looking forward to seeing how Ronaldo, Bale, Fabregas and Lewandowski would perform.

quality site...ive not been on for a while so i need to do some catching up

I forgot to mention this yesterday evening when I came on here, but about two minutes before the first goal, I thought to myself, "Surely all this pressure has to tell eventually".

And so it came to pass.

And in some ways, it was a shame that we switched off after the fourth; I would have loved to see us put six or seven past them, and I'm sure we would have if we'd continued to play with the intensity we had in the first hour.

Still, four will do to be going on with. It's the first time I've seen us put that many past them live.

I missed both the 5-1 in 1989 and the first Eastlands derby and we can't afford away matches.

A brilliant display by the Boys in Blue and one that will live long in the memory.

Absolutely schooled them ... we finished that game in 2nd gear.

Stand out performances from ... everyone. I should single out Kolarov and Zaba because I criticised them last week. Yaya. World class. Aguero. World class. Vinny. World class. Nasri. Becoming a very important player.

So at the end of a long week ... we're in the best shape of the title challengers. We've set the standard. I want to mention the manager because it was his first big league game and whatever he said and did worked.
That sums it up for me also. Plus honorable mentions for Fernandinho and Negredo.
