City - United Post Match Thread

It was obvious after an hour that we had switched off and had our minds on tougher games to follow. Bit disappointed with the scum line up as I was looking forward to seeing how Ronaldo, Bale, Fabregas and Lewandowski would perform.

hahahhahahahah well played!

edit:

To add some actual content. It was obviously an awesome result. Played them off the park. Like others have said, if we had that Yaya week in week out we'd have an invincibles run of our own. Pellegrini is giving Nasri the Cazorla/Isco treatment. His switch of Yaya forward and Fernandinho deep has paid immediate dividends. Aguero still hasn't hit his best stride yet, but he's finding ways to contribute and he's heating up. The league should be scared. It's hard to overstate how hard that first goal was and Sergio made it look easy. Negredo worked his ass off, replacing a lot of what Tevez brought to the side but with a bit less selfish play.

I forgot to mention this yesterday evening when I came on here, but about two minutes before the first goal, I thought to myself, "Surely all this pressure has to tell eventually".

And so it came to pass.

And in some ways, it was a shame that we switched off after the fourth; I would have loved to see us put six or seven past them, and I'm sure we would have if we'd continued to play with the intensity we had in the first hour.

Still, four will do to be going on with. It's the first time I've seen us put that many past them live.

I missed both the 5-1 in 1989 and the first Eastlands derby and we can't afford away matches.

A brilliant display by the Boys in Blue and one that will live long in the memory.
The sole disappointing aspect of the day for me. Yes, I understand that the vast majority of teams will coast home to the final whistle in similar circumstances (players taking it easy with forthcoming games in mind, avoiding risks of injuries, yellow/red cards etc etc). But I feel it was an opportunity missed yesterday to really hammer home a message and lay down a marker. 4 up after 50 minutes against a demoralized and, frankly, piss poor vermin side. The chance to better the 6-1 was definitely on. And I'd imagine Joe and the defence are pissed off at losing the clean sheet late on as well.

And yes; my middle names are ''Victor'' and ''Meldrew''!

Superb day.
20 years today with Mrs Goldblatt (wedding anniv was Friday 11 years)
A 4 - 1 hammering
,,,,,and to top the weekend, Henrik Stenson obliges at 20/1 in the golf, just as MotD2 was on.
I've got a wider smile than that horrible Rag twat Ollie Murs

I might listen to Talkshite tomorrow, before Popmaster comes on

Congratulations goldblatt.

Mine (6 years) was yesterday. I've obviously got a great missus who let me go to Rileys victoria to watch it.
(And I'd obviously racked up a lot of brownie points in advance to make sure.)

I'm going to disagree and say the message was delivered loud and clear. And if taking the foot off the gas a bit after four goals is the difference between having our captain uninjured for the next month... I'll be satisfied. :)

still buzzing! We're going to win the league, the chumps league and both the cups. C'mon city!

It was our 7th anniversary yesterday. The 5-1 was the day before my 27th birthday, and our granddaughter was born the day after the 1-6.

Can we play the rags 21st-24th September or around 24th October every year please?

:-)

It says a lot about how far we have come when we are a little disappointed we ONLY put 4 past them!

Ladies and Gentlemen.

A comment on the guardian:

Cleverley still has a 100% record v city. (he came on and Utd scored so technically 1-0 to Utd in his "game"). He's been the difference in those games and his mobility & quick passing has been a thorn in Toure's sides. If he started, the end result may have been different.

Two words come to mind.

"Straws" and "clutching".
