Sounds about right for me.
We allowed them to have a lot of the ball in the 2nd half

In cricket terms, we declared at 4-0.
Yet we could and should have scored at least 2 more. I think we used the last 35 minutes very well, we got some very good defensive practise, and it worked nicely. Its a pity Hart didn't get his hand fully on the free kick, and push it a fraction higher onto the bar, but hey ho it didn't spoil the day.

Possession stats are meaningless if you create nothing with it, as we have done over the last 12 months regularly, in terms of yesterday united also had a good spell of sideways possession before we scored the second (about 35 minutes in), but at no point did they look like hurting us, I don't think they even entered our penalty area in their best 6 or 7 minutes of the half.

Great performance, and I took as much out of the last 1/2 hour as the first hour, the defence were excellent in that last half hour, and I think we'll have learned a lot from it as a team.

Any links for watching the 4-1 again. Was at the match, but a little drunk, and only coming round :(
Sorry, but I can't see the logic in that. Whatever about getting smashed after the game, to be drunk and not really be aware of what is going on, in a derby match, baffles me. anyway; whatever. I'm sure there are links in the matchday forum to download the game. And, of course, you can see highlights on the OS.

Started early doors, and topped up from sat night. Just ended up bladdered. Booked today off work, because it was gonna be a big one :(

3 pints is good before a big game. Absolutely no point in overdoing it.

I think that this has really hurt and shocked them . The sheer ease with which we buried them has opened their eyes to the reality which has now overtaken them.
Where I live ( not Manchester , so surrounded by plastics ) after the game the usual banter was replaced by a new animosity which surprised me , but it is because I think they have been shaken out of the arrogant complacency which surrounds them , as if a realisation that things are really changing and they can't just expect to win everything in the usual comfortable manner
After the game myself and two other City fans were treated to the view that City players were all c**ts , that we are buying the league , ruining English football - all the usual bilge , but it was delivered with a large dose of venom.
I take it as a sign of the huge progress we are making and how they are now being shaken out of their cocoon of comfort support.
