Can someone explain to me why Kompany can't play?

But if he can't I would go for a team like this:

-----------------------Hart----------------------
Zabaleta----Richards---Lescott-------Clichy
---------------Milner------Barry---------------
Nasri----------------Yaya--------------Aguero
----------------------Dzeko---------------------

I personally would not want to leave Tevez out of the team, but on this form, Dzeko has to start. Dzeko is a confidence player and hopefully he will carry on his good form. If Silva is fit, I'd play him over Nasri.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mancini went 4-4-2 though and went for the kill. We have more than enough to take Ajax, but I just wonder whether he will stick on the side of caution and stick 5 in the middle again.

Either way I think we can get a result

I like this. Just wish there was a way to fit Kolarov into it (as a winger). And Vinnie isn't suspended I don't think.

I'd like to see:

_______________Hart_______________
_________Kompany__Lescott________ (or Nastasic)
Richards___________________Kolarov (or Zab and/or Clichy)
___________Milner__Barry__________
_______________Yaya______________
________Agüero______Tévez________
______________Džeko______________

Subs (from the squad we've brought):

Pantilimon,
Nastasic, Zabaleta, Clichy,
Nasri, Sinclair,
Balotelli.

This seems very attacking, but most formations people are suggesting basically only have Nasri instead of Tévez, and imo Tévez offers more both attacking and defending surely? Maybe this would be better suited to a home tie though, and could be risky...

We need to win tonight and I am actually feeling quite confident. Hopefully our recent form in the league is an indication that we have turned a corner and we can really drive forward. I bet the city fans will have a great time over there! Come on city do the business.

it absolutely no use playing dzeko up front unless we play the ball in front of him. (not at his best with his back to goal)

Deffo got enough fire power to blow Ajax away, just depends on how much tinkering with the team will occur. Chelsea and Rags both gambled with their selections last night. One lost and the other almost came unstuck.

Ajax are a much weaker side without Vertonghen.

Mancini will only ever start with a maximum of 2 forwards,
effectively it will be Aguero + one of the other 3, I reckon Edin will get the nod.

Agreed about the strikers. For me Edin and Kun. I thought they were effective last season together. I think Kolarov might get the nod ahead of Gael. Also for me it has to be Vinnie and Joleon together. Keep Jimmy and Gazbaz together in midfield.

Morning Blues - need a good win tonight - haven't really had a great CL night yet apart from maybe Villareal at home - so let's do it tonight boys!! - CTWD!!!
