CITY v Arsenal - Official Match Thread

Could see this coming a mile off.

Start of week, Rooney on his way out, Utd dropping points at home, everyone bigging City up including Sunday Supplement tossers later on(even Neville and Terry), then end of week Rooney U-Turn, Utd away win and back on track. Stage set for typical City to let you down again.

Not arsed about losing today, we played the best we have since Liverpool and they didn't deserve it at all. Roll on the Derby.

Sending off
Forced Key changes
Just didnt get the bounce of the ball today
Played Thursday compared to Tuesday for them, told in the end

But

Doesnt excuse our poor passing, we are our worse enemies at times. Also showed the difference between thier midfield (pace, movement, ball control) and ours (running, harrying, lack of pace, no creativity) in the end

They have a fair few players who can play passes like Silva, we are overly reliant on Silva to play the killer ball & at times it shows.

90 minutes against the best passing team in the premier league was too much to ask. I thought the lads fought well and showed a lot of spirit, this will make us stronger.

We are not quite title conteders yet. Game on against Wolves next week.

The sending off won the game for them, nothing else. Were a far better team than arsenal, we gave them a lot of trouble with 10men... Shame about the sending off, but good performance.
Can't really put blame on anyone they tried hard but after 60 mins or so they looked tired and rightly so.
Move on.. we'll be the ones laughing at the end of the season looking down on arsenal

Disappointing scoreline in the end- now I have to go to the office and listen to the meatheads that didn't even watch the game crap on about Arsenal! We gave our best considering the early red and the injuries, and we created plenty in that first half- just needed to take one of those half chances and it would have been game on.

It was a non-event thanks to Boyata and Mancinis decision to play him.

Just glad this happened against Arsenal and not the rags.
I full back Mancini's decision to play Boyata, Lescott has been poor
