City v Boro post match

I don't like the way young Garcia is being blamed, that falls on the forwards for not wrapping the game up earlier.
It's easy after the event, personally I think Komps should have been sent on at 70 mins.

We are creating chances, we just need to start taking them.

We need more firepower- the goal threat in our team is Kun, KDB and Ilkay - our back four offer little or no goal threat (ocassional goal from AK), Navas isnt a scorer, Silva not much of a threat, Fern - as AK.

Different system at home where the opposition will sit back and defend all game - possible 3-5-2 with another striker next to Kun. Give there defenders more to think about.

Battered Everton and Boro and was sucker punched on both ocassions.

They are shit. Horrible to watch and that was a poor result no question.

We cannot keep throwing points away at home. We haven't played anyone yet and have lost more points already than in both title winning seasons with 12 games to go. Pep has got to find a way and a good start would be playing two strikers in games like this. Do we need Fernandinho and Gundogan at home and what exactly does Clichy offer in these type of games?

Very frustrating 2nd half and extremely wasteful in front of goal.
I agree we need to start finding ways to win, but Gundogan was pretty much an AM yesterday, so I doubt that was the issue.

It's a bit of Bad luck, a bit of poor finishing a bit of not taking advantage of our possession advantage, and a bit of tiredness.

Not all teams press us, although it's becoming more and more common now that teams have worked out we don't like it!
Some teams have literally just sat back and defended for their lives with very little pressing.

The stats don't count for all that much - if another team is happy to let us have possession, or just accept that we're going to have most of it, and deliberate adopt a 'snatch and grab' approach then if that works out for them, is that not deserved?

We can't keep thinking that because we have most of the possession and the better skills, and even miss a load of chances that somehow a 'lesser' team doesn't deserve anything.
I think 'Boro know their limitations, played to them, and their game plan won them a point. In my book, they deserved that point because the game plan worked. Ours didn't.

If we went to Barca, Bayern or Real Madrid and played very defensively, rode our luck at times, tried to catch them on the break and took one of our chances to snatch a draw, then I'd say that was deserved too. I don't see why we can't credit 'Boro with the same.
They did it to Arsenal too, it's not pure luck - at least not in my opinion.
Applause!

Funnily enough, I think we may be more effective away from home this year. In the past I have never been happy with away form. But this year the we are set up may be better away.
I agree but I'd put it slightly differently. I'd say it's more a case of the opposition setting up better for us when they are at home. We can out-football most teams, so parking the bus is nearly always the best tactic against us. Open expansive play and we usually win.

after the lord mayors show for sure but no excuse for not taking your chances, finishing is an issue which is strange given we have the deadliest striker in prem history

we will get there

I'm not so sure this is truly the case. For what it's worth, we are dominant yesterday when Both parkedvthe bus, but in the 3nd half when they decided to play, the game was actually more even. Sure we were better, but they pit in their punches too.

Gundog was pretty much a passenger yesterday.

Gundog was pretty much a passenger yesterday.
I'm gonna have to disagree on that, 2 or 3 shots on goal and created another opportunity. I doubt he was anymore a passenger than anyone else.

Fair enough - I haven't watched it yet.

This draw completely ruined my weekend

Cannot keep dropping points like this at home, especially against bottom table opposition
