City v Boro post match

Completely agree. its interesting that the only side we have beaten comfortably at home in the league is Bournemouth who came to play. Flat back 10 and hit and hope balls/set piece football is the go to game plan against us right now.

Peps system copes with it and beats it every time but the players just have to do their jobs its that simple.

In the next 3 years, plenty will go and plenty will come in that Pep wants and it will be at the required level that wins us so many games we will pinch ourselves, but in the meantime as fans, it will be painful, especially as players leave and the bitterness it will cause.

Their is some consolation to be taken from the fact we have probably got the worst possible return we could have from the last three home games given the chances created and conceded.

That is unlikely to continue so as long as we keep creating chances we will win more games than we have of late as 2 from our last nine is a poor return.

Fair points so why the fuck does Navas continually go on the outside to the byline and twat it in to nobody ? he's useless I'm sorry, no left foot and never takes a man on in the box ,it was crying out for Sane as at least he's will take a man on.

One good cross every three games isn't good enough for a team like ours.

He has one player in the box to cross to versus 6 defenders. What is he supposed to do?

We havent beaten anyone comfortably other than Bournemouth but in almost all of our games we have had loads of chances and keep opposition chances to a minimum, other than Spurs we havent looked on the backfoot in any game.

If we put away a fraction of the chances we create we wouldnt be questioning whats going wrong, we would have won them all relatively comfortably. The problem for me is how we need 5 chances to score while teams score from 1 or 2 chances against us every game.

I dont believe this can be solved with different tactics, this is down to players not doing what they need to do. You cant account for Aguero or Kev missing relatively easy chances or Clichy standing still at the back post, this is due to composure and concentration.

Joe is playing 'sweeper keeper' stuff these days - he's one of those lucky sorts who can turn his hand to any sport and is actually a decent outfield player. Golden Gloves four years out of six - within a game or two of winning it in the two other years. Better domestic record than De Gea over five years and a better international record than Neuer - five or six clean sheets more in about six less games less. For Germany, Neuer plays behind one of the greatest defensive and midfield units of all time. For England, Hart plays behind a back four and midfield that no-one in world football rates.

Agree

We didn't score the killer 2nd goal again. combination of poor finishing and their keeper conspired against us again but we were poor 2nd half no doubt. Those same players tried for 90 against barca, and I don't see why they couldn't do that against premier opposition too. Attitude to premier games needs to change.... and we definately need another top striker to replace Aguerro when he isn't on form.

3 points in 3 home games is a worry but we have to look at the bigger picture and say that the performances in all 3 games (Southampton albeit quite as good) were very encouraging and we played some great stuff.

The quality of football has definitely improved under Pep and it takes time. If we were scraping draws, I'd be much more concerned.

It will all fall into place.

Hopefully! The quality of the football has improved a lot but saying that it was shite last season so it wasn't hard to improve it. The problem we have is teams coming to us thinking they have no chance if they go toe to toe and just sitting back and waiting for th inevitable mistakes from us or the odd chance here and there. Unfortunately, while we keep making them, teams will keep doing it and it's dull as dishwater as a sporting spectacle.
