City v Boro post match

I can't understand why we rested Sterling given there's another international break coming up. Surely Pep could have got a bit more from him then tell England he'd picked up a knock and won't be available.

I'm pretty sure Pep doesn't give a shit about the England team, and being honest nor do I, it's all about City for me. Perhaps Sterling was completely fucked after working so hard in the Barca game.

It's such a disappointing and frustrating result yesterday, ruined my weekend. Fucking hate Boro, and so pissed off at all these points we drop to shit/average teams because of poor finishing and lapses in defensive concentration. Every error seems to be punished.

But really, we just need to be so much more clinical in front of goal. For the chances we create we're so wasteful or half arsed in shooting.

Ive got no issue with any of that but im hearing if Navas stays on that goal is never scored.

Since when has Navas been the defensive rock on here we rely on? ((% of site traffic post game is about how shit he is yet suddenly, we concede a shit injury time equaliser and Pep is a clown because he brought off the one player who would have definitely, 100% have stopped that cross and goal?

Not having it mate.

Id love for Vinny to be featuring but its absolutely obvious he isnt right either physically 100% or mentally and there is no trust there that he wont break down again. You could argue why have him on the bench then and its a fair question but its one only Pep and Vinny could answer and i doubt we will ever get it.

We dominated the game and should have scored a hat full again. Im fucked off with our forwards not doing more and im fucked off in general that the full back positions that needed upgrading last year still hasnt been done and still costs us but all in all, we deserved to win the game yesterday, played really well apart form banging the goals in and a poor individual error imo cost the side yet again.

they have to stop, the errors that is and we have to score more and Pep himself said our efforts on both boxes needs to improve.

Navas might well have been in a position to close their full back down effectively; we will never know.

Vinnie should not be on bench if he cannot come on for 5 - 10 minutes...

Agreed.

Going into the game we were likely to expect a dug in, bus parking Boro. So the ability to break down their defense with one-on-one play would be extremely valuable. I'd have preferred to see Sterling and Sane start as each of those players can create one-on-one chances.

But... I'm not about to 2nd guess the world's best manager. I'm sure Pep had good reasons for his starting lineup.

He wouldnt imo because it was a deflection off Garcia that went straight out to Freind mate and Navas would have been on the wrong side of him to close it down. Garcia went straight after him as did Zabba but the damage was done and the cross came in.

Agree on the Vinny bit.

You can 'not have it' all you want, and nobody called Pep a clown. Navas was keeping Friend occupied and his work rate is second to none. Boro were never likely to score from anything other than a lump into the box. With 5 minutes left the obvious substitution for me was Kompany on, Silva off

Trust me, some have since the final whistle even if you might not have seen it mate.

Kompany on, Silva off? No issue with that but what does it guarantee given the way we conceded the goal mate?

Clichy this, Bravo that, Kolarov this, Kompany that. All total bollocks. As it developed I was screaming stop the cross! Stop the cross! If you really need to point a finger it simply has to be at Garcia. By the way had Navas still been on that wouldn't have happened. Anybody will tell you it had to be stopped at source.

....ifs,buts & maybe's about their goal would be irrelevant had Kun or Kev taken their chances.

At 2 or 3 nil it's game over.

No substitution ever guarantees anything.

My point exactly so im not getting or having the hindsight being dished out and the statements of, "Pep does this and we dont concede that goal"

The only cast iron thing to take from yesterdays game again is we take only half our chances and its a cricket score!
