City v Bournemouth | Rearranged for Tue 20 May 8pm

City women v united women at the etihad last year gpt a crowd of 40,000. This year the game qas played on a sunday night. Crowd was 22,000.
Its a shit time for most fans, its a shit time for families. Its a great time for the american market (especially when the NFL isnt on).

Does that mean I can put you down for the coach we are running next season to City v TBA.
It will be played in San Francisco, 3pm k.o local time because 600 million people will watch it so hey lets do it.?

By the way, the re-arranged game against Tottenham Hotspur is on the same date at the same time, it's just the venue thats been re-arranged. It's now in Tokyo, after all 600 million people watch it.

I’m not saying it’s right. Just saying that’s the way it is.

Although I’d be a hypocrite if I moaned too much about scheduling because I love watching the other games. If City weren’t playing next week, I’d like nothing more than watching non stop Premier League football all day on a nice lazy Sunday between noon and 9pm.

Just my personal preference but if the choice was moving every game to 38 consecutive Saturdays at 3pm or leaving it the way it is, I’d take the inconvenience of the way it is now over never getting to watch a non City game ever again.

I wouldn’t be happy no but at least I wouldn’t be getting a dart chucked in my eye in the ground or a random kicking from the dibble outside on my way home. Not all changes are for the worse.

nth degree scenarios aside, plenty of people like later kick offs especially on a Sunday - gives them a chance to have a lie in, maybe pop round to a family member for a Sunday roast and still have time to get to the match in the evening. Many fans have busy lives to lead outside of watching City
7pm kick off. How much of a sunday lie in do you need?

It reminds me of when we were made to play a game against Everton.
11.15am on a Sunday morning so that it could maximise the Chinese tv audience.
After all we had Sun Jihai and they also had a Chinese player.
The trouble was Sun Jihai was on the bench and there player was injured.

Oh how we laughed.

That was the Piped chanting game! Classic that one.

That was the dullest atmosphere of any game i've ever been to.

But the chips were nice

Then fight this 7pm Sunday kick off because it’s the continuation of changes that ultimately will lead to games overseas.
Every season another change is brought in, just a small subtle change, they push the boundary just enough for a small number of fans to kick off and for the rest to say “it’s not 1974 anymore” or “doesn’t affect me”. And the more the majority do not disapprove, the more little changes they bring in each season.
So when City v Bournemouth, played in Orlando at midnight UK time is brought in, please do not complain because then it is too late. The time to complain is now.
The PL know fully what their long term plan is and fans have to stop them now from getting there.

Rugby League has already done it. Do you think the PL were not watching?

I’m afraid the time to fight an increase in more live TV games at irregular times has come and gone. A TV deal was signed over a year ago to increase the number of live games on Sky TV by 100 more per season from next season, for the next four years.

That’s 270 out of the total 380 Premier League games that will be shown live on either Sky or TNT from ‘25/‘26.

It’s kind of fitting that this will be my last season ticket holding game.

Couple the timing of this change and the nee 16 game criteria with moving 250 miles away then keeping a season ticket is impossible.

Well yes. The fight over kick off times was lost years ago - although when the last deal was struck, did the PL say specifically that a 7pm Sunday game was on the cards?

German fans wouldn’t stand for this shite. They’d be taking to the streets, fans of each club side by side, petty rivalries set aside for the benefit of match going fans. Until fans in England are prepared to do that, the piss taking will continue

I don't believe this country has anyone left with any real fight left in them mate, we enjoy being farmed so it seems.

I think there are folk there, the issue is for them to convince (for example) that fans of the two Manchester clubs and the three Merseyside clubs that the real enemy isn’t each other but those wearing the suits charged with running the game.
And the suits absolutely know that unless fans of all 92 clubs are marching together against them, they can do whatever they want as the opposition is very weak.

No, but in hindsight, anybody reading it back in late 2023 and seeing that they’ve sold the rights to an additional 100+ games, just to Sky alone, could possibly have had a good guess when all those extra games were going to be fitted in. Because one thing’s for certain, none of them will be Saturday 3pm.

This line was probably an additional clue as well….

”Although there are some weekend matches that have been sold as part of the packages that do not have timeslots. It remains to be seen what happens with them.”

With the match ending at close to 9 at night what will become of the traditional last home match of the season pitch invasion?

I don't think they care look at the rags the way that they have carried on about the Glazers.

Even our own club seems deaf and blind when it comes to us, they do what they want when it want it seems. Don't get me wrong if the club/s would have tried this say 30 years ago it would have been chaos but slowly but surely they have gotten to a stage where they have gotten most if not all of us to sit down and shut up.

That however isn't enough for them they wont be happy until we are replaced with new customers happy to spend in the shop and hotel etc, we have taken our eye off the ball and now you've got more chance of winning spot the ball than acually getting the ivory towers to listen.

What really really disappoints me is the silence from the players, are they all selfish fuckers? These are the ones that we cheer on every matchday where have their voices gone?
