City v Bristol City 1st leg post match

Ottamendi, (and I'm the only fan it seems of The Mangler!) and Aguero starting tonight would have made it more comfortable than it was. It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be with no recognised CENTRE FORWARD but we've been saying over the last half dozen games in the FOCs section of CBL3 that you have to make sure that you have sufficient distance between you and the opposition so that the ref cannot influence the outcome!

ON The Mangler front, it was Eli who lost the ball and put us under pressure, but it was Stonesy who gave Taylor his jizz moment! Stonesy needs to get back the composure he had before his hammy. Saturday's dropped bollock might have cost us and tonight's moment of clumsiness could have done the same.

I sit right next to that & wheras it's true Stones was fucking hopeless, Kompany would have rescued the first situation without much trouble, wheras Mangala was a potential red card.

He's just not got it in the brain department.

This mangala hate is over the top .
Why no one is hating on stones ?
He is the one who gave away pk and was responsible for the the goal on Saturday. Because he is English and white ?
Ffs mangala is not a left sided center half .

I felt a bit sorry for Mangala as nobody showed for him, zinchencho had tucked inside instead of making himself available

Agree with all that, mangala seems a nice bloke, but fuck me surely even training with better players would improve your game but it isn’t happening for him..

His reading of penalties is excellent. Was unlucky.
Nearly saved their only real chance created by fuck ups from two others.
Created the first goal.
Excellent handling.
Came for some crosses and swept up well behind the defence.

Yet still gets slated.

I agree mate...Bravo played well and his passing was decent.
Apart from not coming for the ball when Stones wanted him too he did nothing wrong.
His options are limited when we play a makeshift defence as the players don't give him enough options for a quick pass.
I've stuck up for Mangala but tonight he was poor as was Stones but Zinchenko played well.
Yaya didn't give the ball away but he slows us down and playing him with Gundo and Bernie doesn't work.
We were the better team and deserved to win but fair play to Bristol who gave it a go.
Taylor was a C.unt as usual and let lots of fouls go unpunished.
On the plus side getting a tram to Ashton was a bit easier because of the lower attendance.
We need to go with a nearly full strength team at Bristol and we should win.
At least we didn't pick up any injuries so that's good.

Excellent tenacity and attitude to get the win.

Bravo and Mangala. Bless.

Yaya is such a sad figure these days. An absolute shadow of the utter great he was.

If we're absolutely honest we stole that one. Credit to Bristol, they played well. The pressed and defended well. However, we were poor in so many departments, Mangala is just awful and should be nowhere near this squad. Stones had a very poor night. He look a long way off being match fit and a little short on confidence. As many others have said, it is time Yaya was moved on. Its been a privilege watching him but he is simply too slow for this team. In no particular order Danilo, Gundogan and Bernardo were poor and Sane is so frustratingly wasteful at times.

On a more positive note, KdB is just so good and that pass by Bravo that lead to our first goal was a thing of beauty.

The good news is that we are ahead on aggregate and its hard to imagine we will be that poor in the second leg.
Ok, that’s it! I’m sorry for experimenting with hallucinagens in my youth. But please may I come back to the real world now! “We STOLE it!”
We WERE the better team!

Not posted on here for a while,

Hope I don't get 'blocked' from posting on a thread for opinions that don't suit the bluemooon gestapo.

Some of the players we've bought with their associated price tags need to be questioned.

I have seen nothing from Bernardo to suggest he's anywhere near the level required of a 50 million pound player. So one footed its unbelievable.

Can someone please tell Leroy to look up when he decides to dribble to within millimetre of the opponent? Some lessons in trapping the ball would also be good.

Lots of deadwood to go. Yaya is a legend but finished at this level. Gundogan - again might be a fashionable European player but I'm not sure he's going to be the 'pivot' midfielder Pep was hoping for.

Sterling as a false number 9 was a failure. Danilo; a 30 million pound defender? Think he'll be moved on soon. We all know Mangala hasn't got the footballing brain to be a 'total footballer' in Cruyff's style.

A win is a win but a 2-1 lead is nothing. They'll be up for it big style at their end. This tie has a long way to go. Much improved performance needed if we are to qualify. Let's hope we get to Wembley!
You don't have to be in the Gestapo to know that you've posted a load of bollocks.
First, there's no need to exaggerate the price of our players by quoting the Euro prices as pounds.
Sane wasn't at his best today but he's shown often enough that he's a very good player, as has Gundogan and Bernardo.
Lots of deadwood? You're having a laugh. You even mentioned our top scorer as a failure. We're 15 points ahead in the league and still in contention for three other trophies and all the players have been involved in getting us this far.
The only player who definitely isn't up to it is Mangala and I have my doubts about Danilo.
