City v Chelsea post match

On reflection, I'm not sure how we weren't three or more up. Aguero rounding the keeper, KDB hitting the crossbar, etc. We need to take our chances, something that we simply haven't been doing for a while.

That said, there were some awful performances yesterday. It's no secret that we need an overhaul in defence. I went right off of Ottamendi after the West Ham goal last season when he was too busy fannying with his shit haircut. He's not a centre half for us. For a start, he's a fucking melt. He likes to look like a hard man but he's anything but. Constantly bullied. He's also far too rash in the challenge and lunges in too often. We're always done by the pass through the middle, and it's often because this melt has lunged in and finds himself out of position. I would love us to sign Van Dijk in January. Stones and Van Dijk with Tosin on the sidelines with Denayer to put in the performances this season to make him a contender next year.

I like Stones, however, we need a Vinny or a Vidic next to him. A strong centre half. That's not Otamendi. I think Van Dijk would compliment Stones, unlike the liability that is Otamendi.

Would like to see Bravo make himself bigger and rush off the line. Not a convincing performance by him yesterday.

Another overhaul needed I'm afraid. Let's build from the back.

That proved absolutely f*ck all!!! His foot could be 2 feet away from the ball you simply can't tell from that angle. We all know he was lunging for it but did he actually touch it!? We will likely never know as Sky (un) surprisingly chose not to show any replays, which tells me it was likely a stonewall penalty.

What gets missed is in the modern game, winning the ball means fuck all, hell, loo at Otamendi yellow card yesterday for proof of that!

kante to him out from behind and anywhere else on the pitch its a free kick and more often than not a yellow card.

Stonewall penalty, end of.

Has anyone anywhere seen a replay of Gundogan being taken out by Kante?
It was not shown on motd and sky did not show it during the game. Was far too pissed off to watch their post match Chelsea wankathon but did they really not discuss it?
It was a great tackle

Have to admit, I loved seeing Iheanacho standing up for Kun at the end and getting stuck in. Many teenagers would have shat themselves, but he showed bottle. Something you need to lead the line, which he'll be doing this month.

Off topic I know, but I actually think we played better football under Mancini. Fast and creative. And in his first full season we had one of the best defensive records.

No great fan of any of our defenders but there's no doubt the way MP and Pep set up, leaves them more exposed than most managers would do.

Lots of talk about Mancini but he had Barry and De Jong sat in front. Lescott would get torn apart playing behind this midfield. We're too easy to get at.

Yes there are better defenders than we have at the mo but not many that would look comfortable in this system. Anyone hoping the cheque book will solve it could be disappointed. It's a formation issue not a personnel issue and at the moment, the rewards of playing with an extra attacking player are not justifying the managers choices.

Posted yesterday, didnt see game was working but got updates on radio..Anyhow watched motd last night and from that can't believe how we didn't have the game put to bed before they equalised,it seems to be a habit for home games at the moment. As for some decisions the luiz block looked like a yellow card, gundogan challenge was a pen,the brawl at the end aguero red correct,Fernandinho red correct, but why no red for the Chelsea player that shoved aguero, fabregas possible red, then what looked like nacho getting hit twice in the brawl by possibly two different Chelsea players, although would need to see it again..
